BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  1. The Mayan didn't say that when their calendar had finished, the world was going to end, the end of their calendar meant that it starts a new cycle.

It's very absurd that people thinks that world is going to end, although in my opinion a 99% of the population didn't believe it, the world wasn't going to be ending in a one second, if the world would be end, we would have known it much earlier.

Always the same story, everyone is profiting at the expense of that, if people thinks that the world is going to end, what people do? well people will buy a lot of food, alcohol etc... because they want to live their life at 100%.

I think we're in decline, because every time we do worse things, although the most unbelievable thing is that people leave their jobs, their studies only for a calendar misinterpretation.

  2. I'm alive, so The Mayan were wrong! I never believed that the world would end on 21st December, because I think it's impossible. The Mayan's calendar said that 21st December would end a cycle, but not the World. Many people thought that the world would end last Friday and did rituals in Mexico, where The Mayan lived originally. The news from around the world interviewed crazy people who created special houses to withstand the flood (Obviously, that never happened). Internet and social networks were full of news about the end of the world, especially Twitter, where people expressed their views and wishes for that day. I hope that the end of the world comes too late, within millions of years!

  5. Although some people thought that the world was really going to, we discovered that it fortunately didn't. December 21st passed as any other ordinary day, without any special event. In fact, for students of 2nd Bach it was so special that we had a test! I didn’t think the world would end, but a few days before I had read a tweet which confirmed that NASA had announced three days in total darkness. And I believed it. But nothing happened.
In 2000 something similar happened: people thought the machines would revolutionize, but nothing happened. What has actually happened is a change of cycle. There are also studies that claim that the Mayan calendar doesn’t correspond to our calendars, because if this were so, the world would have ended some years ago.

  6. I’ve never believed in the end of the world and that’s why the 21st December was an ordinary day for me. However I know that many people worldwide thought that day would be their last and the last one for the whole world. In fact there were many people who made a kind of bunker where they had water and tinned goods in order to survive for a few years.
The world was supposed to have ended many times in the latest years, but today, we can affirm that none of these apocalyptic announcements were true. Yet, there are always people who believe again and again in concrete dates for the ending of the world. Lately, this topic has become very common for science-fiction movies, but when we watch these kind of films we have to remember that they are only movies and not reality.

  7. I agree with Mr. Tarifa, Mayan calendar said that 21st December would be the beginning of a new cycle, not the end of the World. It has been such an influential piece of news that many people became crazy and prepared themselves to what could happen.
To tell you the truth, thousands of years, even millions of years, will hopefully pass before the end of the World comes. I saw a documentary which said that the world would be the world until the Sun turns off. It compared the Sun's life as a clock, and the clock still hasn't even reached half the distance, and the world has been existing for million years. So, there is still a lot of time left for the world to come to an end.
However, there are some factors which could cause the premature end of the world, such as the climate change we are causing all around the world.

  8. In my opinion Mayans were wrong. I am agreeing with you this story about the end of the world was false. Maybe the Mayans did not count leap years. Perhaps the Mayans wanted to say us there will a change in our lives this day.

In think that the mayority of the people didn’t believe this story. But finally some people ending believing this false story. I think that the Mayans couldn’t predict the future.

Do you know that today the 15th of February 2013 a meteor will pass close to Earth and could fall if it deviates in Indonesia? Do you know that the last time that it fells one like this devastated 2500 km squares? Do you know that Indonesia is 6000km roughly from Spain? Do you know that today also a meteor has already fell in Russia? Yes or no? I don’t think you know. If you don’t know that , that it is 100% true, How do you know about the Mayan’s story in my opinion it isn’t true?

  9. In my I my opinion I think the ancient Mayan civilisation didn't want to say that when their calendar had finished (in the 21st December), the world was going to end, the end of their calendar meant that it starts a new cycle, that's all. Although, the Mayans were wrong because they didn’t count the leap years, and that’s very important.

However, I think there are other forms to end with our world and we don't have to predict very much. For example:
    - The pollution, because we aren’t doing nothing for it and in a few years that’s going to be a very dangerous problem.
    - The meteorites, for example yesterday in Russia there was one.

All in all, I think that we don’t know the future maybe tomorrow can be the end of the world and we don’t predict it.

  11. It's false! In my opinion the world will end when the sun stops shining, then the earth will freeze and we die of cold. But there are other forms to end with the world like the pollution or with other explotion like the 'Big Bang', although the form most probably to end with the world is the thawing of the poles, the water level of the seas would rise to flood all.

I think that we can't believe in the Mayan civilisation, because nobody can't know when the world end.

About the pollution in the world, we must recycle everything we can, because if we don´t recycle it's worse for everybody, although I think that all rubbish end up in the sea

All in all, nobody can't predict the future and we must care our planet.
