BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

ENERGY DRINKS

Another video sent by Elena.

Do you fancy energy drinks?

.... AND IF YOU HAVE TIME, HERE'S A SELECTIVITY EXAM: ENERGY DRINKS

  1. Devin Graham has just uploaded his latest short video. This time it is a fake advertisement for an energy drink. Obviously this is not a proper advertisement; Devin does this in order to practice his film directing and show the world what he's capable of.

The video is amusing and very watchable. The video-clip lasts 3:17 minutes and is packed full of action and humour. In the middle of this very fast moving film there are 8 clips where the film is in slow motion. A special camera was used to film these actions. The music is very loud and full of energy even when the film is in slow motion. This makes a nice contrast. Various stunts are included in the clip, such as cutting fruit with a sabre and falling over each other. There are some interesting camera angles; one taken from inside the fridge when it is opened and the other taken looking straight down onto a frying pan when food is thrown into it.

David Graham uses a variety of filming techniques and a humourous plot to make this advertisement interesting. I think it's another success. He has become very well known and by posting videos on youtube regularly, one every week, he has raised his profile. I wish him good luck for the future.

  2. I don’t like energy drinks at all. I hate their taste and smell because they are extremely sweet. In addition, I’ve read about some studies which have shown that a usual consume of this kind of drinks is linked to changes in heart rhythm and nervous system. The health risks are even bigger if this drinks are mixed with alcoholic drinks, in fact in the USA there have already been a few cases of people who had to be brought to the hospital because they had drunk too much of this drinks. Many people, specially students, have energy drinks because they want to stay awake all night, but this also can lead to another risk: they can become addictive. I think authorities should look closer the ingredients of these drinks and people should be careful that they don’t become a usual drink.

  3. The first time I drank an energy drink was a year ago. I heard people talk about ‘’monster” or “redbull’’, but I didn’t even know what they were. But little by little, I had to get used to drinking them. Some nights I needed to stay awake for a while and I started to drink coffee or some of these drinks. But my mother advised me not to get used to drinking them, so I don’t drink them anymore.
Sometimes, when I go to a party, I drink this kind of drinks because I don’t like alcoholic drinks, so if I go out to a disco or to the beach, I have a coke or a redbull.
I think this kind of drinks are better than alcoholic drinks, but too much of them can be worse than too much of other drinks, because it can affect your nervous system and it can bring serious health problems.

  5. In my opinion, energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster, Gatorade and others are selling like crazy to younger segments and nobody is paying attention to the health issues and its effects. I think they have a horrible taste, that much sugar, caffeine and sodium, all of it bad for you.
People buy them as healthy drinks but I think consumers have to watch what their children are eating and drinking and teach them about health.
They are just bad in taste and a waste of money. It's better to drink a glass of fresh fruit juice for energy .It's much tastier and energetic. One glass of fresh juice in the morning gives you a complete boost for the whole day. I had never drunk an energy drink until two weeks ago. I had an important exam and I wanted to stay up all night. Mymother bought me Monster, because my friends recommended it to me, and it was nasty! It had a lot of gas and a strange flavor. In conclusion, I hate energy drinks.

  9. In my opinion this video only talks about the ppositive aspects of energy drinks, but it doesn't talk about the bad aspects. A fizzy drink is a is a beverage that typically contains water (often, but not always, carbonated water, nowadays people prefer fizzy drinks without carbonated water), and it can also contain sugar with other additives,

On the one hand, fizzy drinks have, in my opinion, too many additives (caffeine, sodium...) and they can be unhealthy for us, If you haven't done any sport, it's also unhealthy because it can contain a lot of sugar and you haven't done any physical activity during the whole day.

On the other hand, things have changed a lot, for example nowadays you can have a Coke without caffeine, without carbonated water... So it's not very important to do sport before you drink it. If you buy it with caffeine it keeps you awake, and if you want to study or work it's very useful.

In conclusion, I think that fizzy drinks have good and bad things, it depends on the case, but if you are going to drink a fizzy drink you should do a bit of sport.

  10. The video is very good but I think the energy drinks are bad for our body because it has much sugar and caffeine.
With the caffeine we can get nervous and we can´t sleep well.
I think it is better drink other type of drinks. But, for example alcohol drinks are bad for our body too. The energy drinks also has artificial colouring.
If you drink much energy drinks you can hurt the stomach.

  11. Nowadays, all young people drink energy drink because it can help them to be hyperactive. Energy drinks can have some adventages and disadventages.

Firstly, energy drink can make you study all night without sleep. In adiction to this, if you drink it before you go to the gym, you can do double work. Drinks like Burn or Red Bull can give you an extra force and energy. For example, there are a lot of people who take it in order to withstand several hours of physical exercise.

On the other hands, this drinks are harmful to the heart and blood vessels. Doctors advise not to take it especially if you're doing sports or if you have a mobility problem . Also, some people tend to mix it with alcohol what is even worse for your health.

In my opinion, we should drink this kind of drinks in moderation and we musn't abuse it. Even, it would produce a heart attack. I like drink energy drink sometimes but normally, I drink some refreshment.

  14. Energy drinks are becoming more and more consumed by young people all around the world, especially by athletes or students from developed countries like the United States, Spain or China. It can be said that these drinks are replacing coffee, however, they are much more harmful than coffee, because they cause many diseases.

One of the most common diseases that have increased in the recent times is obesity. Energy drinks have a lot of sugar, which beats any other drink; but in addition, one can of these drink have as much caffeine as 14 cans of Coca Cola, which can cause palpitations, insomnia, anxiety or nervous problems. Therefore, experts recommend not to take these drinks to pregnant women, children or the elderly.

It is proven that student achievement doesn't improve with energy drinks, it can get worse, therefore, success is not achieved by drinking energy drinks, but increasing study time and respecting the hours of sleep. Personally, I don't drink energy drinks and I have never tasted them, since that knowing their effects, I'd rather take other types of healthier drinks such as water, milk, tea or fresh juice.

Taking all this into account, I think that young people should think before consuming these drinks. In addition, the government should control them and prevent the most damaging. Moreover, mix this drink with alcohol, as do many of my friends, is very harmful and can lead to a cerebral stroke.

Soft drinks such as cola may contain caffeine, but are also not energy drinks.

  17. Energy drinks have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that they reduce exhaustion and activate you, the drawbacks are that it is composed of substances that are harmful to those who take them. That is, if you take them few times nothing happens, but if you take them many times it is not good

  18. Energy drinks are non-alcoholic drinks which contain stimulating substances that help to reduce fatigue and exhaustion. In today's society, people's schedules tend to be extremely busy and many people don't get the recommended eight hours of sleep. To counterbalance this, many people choose to drink energy drinks.

On the one hand, energy drinks are a stimulant that really works because shortly after drinking them you will already feel very energetic. In addition, it is very common that students drink these beverages during their exams in order to be active and somehow " recuperate " the hours of sleep they don't get. Furthermore, one of the most common stimulants is caffeine. "Caffeine is the most widely used drug on the planet and has been used for centuries for its stimulating effects". Most energy drinks contain caffeine, which stimulates the central nervous system, making your body more alert.

On the other hand, caffeine and energy drinks are harmful to health. Caffeine use can dehydrate your body and increase your blood pressure and heart rate. Besides, these energy drinks can become a drug for some people because they contain substances that make them addictive. Moreover, energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster or Rockstar have high levels not only of caffeine, but also of sugar. Therefore, consuming these products frequently can produce serious long-term problems, including obesity and diabetes.

In short, energy drinks are a refreshing liquid that keeps your body activated. Also, although they can be useful in helping us to have more energy while we are studying or working, we must be careful with them because they can also be dangerous. In my opinion, we should consume the less of these drinks the better, choose a healthy diet and rest for at least 8 hours. This way we will naturally have the energy we need for the whole day.

  19. Energy drinks are drinks with a high level of caffeine and are not good for your health. It also usually contains taurine, which is an amino acid found in proteins, ginseng that is commonly used in Chinese medicine...

I drink a lot of energy because even if they are not good for your health they are delicious. Although no matter how bad they may be, drinking once in a while is not bad, as with coffee. If you need to stay awake for any situation it is not bad to drink an energetic.

The problem of energetics is when they are drunk in excess since they are harmful to health

  20. The video wants to tell us that energy drinks are not bad. They give you a lot of energy to get through the day and help you with your more dificult tasks. They want to represent that these types of drinks are good, but if you learn a little more about this, you will realize that they have a lot of sugars. It is not the best thing you can take to have a lot of energy, also sugar makes you addicted to it and also sugar makes you fatter a lot, energy drinks are like junk food if you take them twice a month it is not bad but if you drink it daily if it can have serious effects on your health. For example, drink energy drinks like Coca-Cola, Moster, Red Bull always at mealtime if it can make you have poor health. But nothing happens if you are tired of playing and you drink one of these energy drinks to get energy.
