BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

When will we be able to retire?

Hard times for people who want to retire because they don't feel strong enough to go on or just because it is high time to have some relaxing time.

Read these two newspaper articles:

  1. Retirement is the point where a person stops employment completely.
On the one hand I think that now teenagers have a big problem with the retirement in Spain.
Because if now the age to be able to retire is 67, in a few years it would be 70.
And that it isn't fair, because a few years ago lot of people taked early the retirement and they weren't very ill nor old.

On the other hand I think that other persons like work, so this better for them, like Sir Alex Ferguson the Manchester United manager who has retired at the age of 80 or Yoko Ono who is still working at the age of 80.

All in all I think that If there is unemployment, and there is young people who doesn't work, old people have to retire. It isn't now a question of greatness for old people, it's a question of work for young unemployed people.

    1. In Spain the retirement age is 65 years, but this will vary from the profession because if you're a writer you can have 82 years and still be able to write. And it is admirable because if you like something you must do it until you can't any more, but the people who love skateboarding or surfing with 80 or 90 years I don't think they'll do these things.

I think people like Yoko Ono are remarkable people because they love their jobs and within their capabilities make it possible to continue in the job they love. I think that after all the work and the trophies Sir Alex gave to the team they should thank him and give him a post of director or something similar because not everyone dedicated so many years of his life.

To me retreat can be something very good for some people, but something not so good for others, because there are people who are married to their jobs and if you take them away from them, it's like removing a part from him, even as important as his life. But there are other people when they start working , they already begin to dream about retiring.

So I think that one shouldn't generalize about retiring because some jobs are harder than others , more physical effort and other factors should be take into account. So I think every job should be analised in detail, see what people do and the impact it has on these people. An age limit should be established for each job, because a truck driver with 70 years can do little, but a person in an office with less movement and physical effort can stay longer. However , that would also be a bit unfairas we all deseve equality. As well, new generations need those posts so I think 60-65 is a good age if you want to retire.
