BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

I admire the skaters because they do very cool things. And you can personalize your skate as you like. Is very interesting.

  3. THE EVOLUTION OF SKATEBOARDING (part 1)

Skateboarding has always been somewhat controversial. Parents are not always happy when their children belong to the 'skateboarding scene', perhaps because it is considered a dangerous sport, but also because it has often been associated with an alternative culture.

However, you might be surprised to learn that skateboarding has been around since the 1950s. It all started in California when the surfers got the idea of trying to 'surf the streets'. This notion in itself is quite innovative; but then skateboarding has always been on the edge of society, searching out other ways of doing things. Maybe this is because it is a activity which has frequently had to reinvent itself.

Its popularity increased during the 1950s and into the early 60s but in 1965 it suddenly crashed, and most people assumed that skateboarding was a fad that has died out. Nevertheless, skateboarding is a strange, spontaneous sport which can not easily be killed off. A few enthusiasts continued to skate; parts were difficult to find but they went back to making home-made boards.

Frank Nasworthy was one of these fanatics and the sport was about to experience a renaissance with his invention of the urethane wheel. A new style evolved, which took the sport to new levels. Suddenly, skaters were trying out new, low-to-the-ground movements and jumping into the air with acrobatic manoeuvres. A skater named Ollie invented a revolutionary jump. He would slam his back foot down on the tail of his board and jump, thereby elevating himself and the board into the air. The 'ollie' was born, a trick that completely regenerated skateboarding; most tricks today are based in performing an 'ollie'.

Things seemed to be going well, but near the end of the 70s skateboarding faced its second crash in popularity. It had become an even more dangerous activity and insurance rates got out of control. Less people came to the skateparks and the vast majority of them closed.

  4. (part 2)

Skateboarding had to reinvent itself yet again and in one sense, the closing of the parks was positive, because it introduced a new freedom to the sport. It became more of an underground movement with skaters continuing to ride, but making the whole world into their skatepark. The die-hards took to the streets using public hand rails as grinding bars, parking lots as a flat surface and park benches and curbs as blocks and pads.

By the 1980s skateboarding was influencing worldwide clothing styles, music and culture. The early skaters in the late 1970s in America, had been emblematic of 'the Californian way of life' with their shaggy hair, Hawaiian shirts and torn denim shorts. In the 80s the fashion had changed to a Latino style with their flannel shirts and their bandannas. Skateboarding had never been so popular it was an international phenomenon by now.

But skateboarding was to face yet another challenge, in the late 1980s its popularity plummeted. Nevertheless, those who skated has always been of a dogged, tenacious and rebellious nature; and the sport shared these same qualities. By the 90s, skating was back into fashion; this time with a raw, edgy and dangerous attitude. It coincided with the rise of angry punk music and the general discontent with the establishment that raged throughout the West at this time. The image of the poor angry skater punk became a stereotype; parents became even more wary of the skating scene, but this same image fuelled skateboarding popularity amongst the young.

In 1995 skateboarding became respectable. ESPN the giant media group in the USA held their first Extreme Games competition in Rhode Island. This was the first of the X Games and it was a huge success; it also pulled skateboarding into the mainstream. There is even now talk of skateboarding becoming an Olympic sport. Skateboarding had finally made it!

But not everybody is happy. Skateboarding is a very individual activity. There is no right or wrong way to skate and there is a large group of skaters who miss the underground days. Where will skateboarding go from here? It has always been about self discovery, pushing oneself to the limit and invention. Who knows where skaters will continue to take this risky and rough-hewn sport.

  5. The videos are awesome! I love how they handle the table. I really like the skate, but I prefer reollerblading, because I learned to rollerblade when I was ten; I learned very quickly, and now I rollerblade very well. In my free time I usually go rollerblading with my friends, and also with my little cousin, because I'm teaching rollerblading her.
Skateboarding was probably born in the late 1940s or early 1950s in California. I sometimes practice skate. I know many people who practice it, because it is now the fashionable sport. I think it's very difficult, but in my opinion it is incredible and magical.

  6. I think skateboarding is a somewhat risky sport, can really hurt you and break you some bones.
I like skateboarding, but I'm afraid to practice. I have friends who do this sport and end up on the ground, is very difficult.
There are people in the world have awards, they are very good.
The skate is the table, is very simple. With it you can do jumps and move quickly.

Skateboarding can be a dangerous sport because you can break a leg or hand but there are many people who enjoy practising it!

  8. I think that skateboarding is a very dangerous sport because people who practice it have to jump with the table and because they can break a leg, a arm....too. I really like the skateboarding but I don't practice it. On Sundays I go to the square of my town to pracrise it, but it's very dificult. I think rollerblading is safer than skateboarding.

  10. I just saw these videos and they are awesome, and I found their disguises very funny. I love the way they manage the skate and how they move their legs. I think skateboarding is a very complicated activity and you need do a lot of practice . The skateboard should be considered a sport like any other, since you need to have a good physical condition and train a lot with courage to do the tricks correctly, moreover, it is a risky sport, like snowboard or ski.

I know many people who practice this sport, and they say it is amazing. You need a lot of practice, but when you finally learn how to do a trick after a while, it's like if you get a goal or dreams have come true, so skateboarding is a way to have more confidence in yourself and know that if you try hard you would get results.

Many people today associate skateboarding with vandalism, and I think they are wrong. Skateboarding is an art, and people who really like this sport and are very good at it, make a lot of money and are very famous, such as Tony Hawk, considered the best skater in the world.

To sum up, I'd like to know how to do skateboard, however, I've tried it and it's very difficult, I prefer to look, because you have to have a lot of control on your legs and it's too much adrenaline for me. I like to do rollerblading, and when I have free time I like to go out with my friends to a park to practice.

  14. Skateboarding is twirling with the table. It is hard but nice to see. If up to me to learn to skate, but it's hard for me, even just to ride in the table.

    Video.

The video is very cool it's amazing what they can do. I love it when it appears scooby doo (the dog) on the table with your knees. Doing that is even more difficult to stand. That if they are professionals!

  15. This sport was developed in the early 1948 as a replacement surfboard on land, removing the wheels from the skates. It has developed a great attraction and interest to many, and usually a publicity stunt for youth (skaters or not). a 2002 report to the American Sports Data found that there were 40.5 million skateboarders in the world; 84% being under 18 years, of which 74% were male and 26% female.

I don't like it much. I don't practise it. I prefer watching it.

For example, pools, steps, roads, etc.. The only impediment to this street sport is upset street: bumps, bites, bumps, ... In general, anything that might destabilize the skater.I like a lot, but do not practice

  22. Skateboarding is all about riding this and doing tricks most of the time to get it off the ground.
The skateboard has more than 100 tricks.
The skating jump can be called an ollie if you jump with the front but if it is with the rear Nollie, when you jump and turn the skate it is called flip tricks. The parts of the skate:
    1 table
    2 sandpaper
    3 axles
    4 bases
    5 elevator or hikes
    6 bolts
    7 bearings
    8 wheels.
Skate history : This sport began to be practised in the state of California in the 1960s and 1970s, when extreme sports such as surfing were booming worldwide. The main reason for the creation of skateboarding is based on the replacement of the surfboard on land.

  23. skateboarding is a sport that consists of moving and doing tricks with the skateboard. It is a very difficult but impressive sport.

Today I see many people who practice or are interested in this sport. Although it is a dangerous sport because it is very easy to get hurt many friends of mine are starting to do skateboarding and they tell me that it is a very interesting sport

For example, in the summer of 2021 they built a skatepark in Parque de las Americas in Motril, when I walk by I always see the park with many people skateboarding.

In salobreña a few years ago they removed the skatepark that was there (most of the park was made with the materials of the skaters who went to skateboard there). Then they were prohibited from skating in the town hall. Many of the skaters complained but they were ignored
