BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  1. in my opinion this is not a error in the police. Because this year have killed many people of color by policeman people are sure that it isn´t a error, this is a clear act of racism, I think it should have investigated in the first death and had not been returned to repeat. The police shouldn´t kill anyone. This is another case, in it, a child was playing in the street with a toy gun and the police, without stopping to observe anything of him, shoot. These cases must stop

  2. It is a well known fact that racism hasn't disapeared yet. One example of racism is when in the night a black men is running through the street with a hood, and because he is a black men, people think is a thief. It is clear that racism has reduced, but it isn't enough.

In the one hand, this type of things aren't accidents, it has passed a lot of times. In my opinion I think american policeman have too much power and also americans, because they can have guns, shotgun, rifles... without a lot of requirements.

In the other hand, problaby the black man that has been killed could be very very dangerous. But even so I think that isn't a reason for killed a disarmed man. I think USA should think about the possesion of guns.

All in all I think we have to stop this type of awful things. I hope one day this supposed accidents have disappeared.

  3. Racism is a feeling of rejection towards other races different from yours. There has always been racism and social inequality, especially a few decades ago, for example, in some places, black people couldn’t go on the same buses as whites ones, or in Germany during the Hitler dictatorship, many people were killed in rooms with gas simply because they had a different religion from the murderers. Today, racism is much reduced, but there are still many people who despise others simply because of their skin color, their religion or their way of dress.

Lately, there have been many cases of racism in the United States, where the police have killed several people for the simple fact of having black skin. The last case was the murder of Freddie Gray, a 25 years old boy from Baltimore, although before there had been other murders as L.Scott Walter, who was shot by a policeman in the street, the Michael Brown’s murder, a 18-year-Ferguson, or Eric Garner’s one in New York. These deaths have produced anger in the cities, which were full of protests and tributes to these young people killed without any cause. These four murders show that racism has not decreased, and what is more worrying is that the police, whose mission is to protect the citizens, are those with this "disease".

Many people, after seeing this abuse cases, wonder what is the solution to these problems, how could we definitely end racism? It is clear that to eliminate racism in society would be very complicated, but there are ways to try to stop it. In my opinion, children should learn in school to live together and respect people of different ethnicities, because, after all, we are all humans and have the same right to live and be happy. Thus, by the time a society in which racism was bad seen would be created.

Taking all this into account, in my opinion harder punishements should be put for racist polices, and also they should make a psychological test before accepting them as policemen to discover in advance if there is any racism sign in his personality. From my point of view, the police should protect people from the dangers and not be a threat to certain people in society. This is a big problem and governments should find a solution immediately. We can’t continue living in the past and taking a backward mentality, we must progress more and more through our mistakes.

  5. Fifty years ago, it was a well known fact that America was a country with a lot of racism. Black people have been suffering one of the worst periods in their history since the colonialism. Another important case of racism, took place in Germany during the 2nd World War, Nazis killed millions of Jews. However, people like Martin Luther King, Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Teresa de Calcuta… and other fought to change this social inequality. In fact, they achieved a lot of human rights. But, has this racism finished yet, or not?

This year in America, there have been a lot of cases of racism, like this one in Baltimore, when Gray, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Baltimore on 12th April and died seven days after a serious spinal cord injury (caused during a transfer in a lorry), without lending him any medical attention. However, this is not the only case of racism that has happened in America, there have been three other cases, and one was about an eighteen-year-old man.

This means that we have to continue fighting against this type of racism. Nevertheless, we have to do it peacefully, and not using more violence. We could think isolated cases, but this isn’t true, because in Spain we also have racism cases with black people and especially with Gypsies.

In conclusion, things must change in our way of thinking because we are all equal, and in the case of America, policemen should have less power, and they have to care about who is a thief, and who isn’t, before they shoot anyone, and not be racist.

  7. In my opinion this is a case of police abuse, because the police sometimes abuse of their prisoners. I think the police don't have to mistreat the detainees, although, if the police's life is in danger the police must use the strength for defend it. There were cases in which the police used too much force and they have killed people (unintentionally). Two weeks ago there was a protest in Baltimore . The protest was for finish the investigation into what happened about the murder of Gray at the hands of police.

In these protests, a mother called Toha found her son protesting between the crowd. She called her son and took him to her house. The mother was very angry with his son and she was shouting and striking to her son. In my opinion, all the mothers should do the same that this mother, because if you are under age you mustn't protest. For me, Toha is responsible and very brave.

Other reason of this problem is that the government in the United States permit the use of handgun to all the population and this law can produce more accidents between the persons.

  8. Unfortunately we are watching on the Internet and on television news wich dont seem to belong to the century in which we live. Thanks to technology, images appear showing the acts of people who commit violence on others as is the case with the police in the USA.
On the one hand, Americans want to deny it, racism still exists in their country. In the images we can see the police beating to death or sometimes shooting at people of color, curiously, none of those people who die are white.
Moreover, the black population of the country is very large and see that their children arent well treated, perhaps the problem is that they arent well educated in general and imagine that being a black person is already guilty.
Martin Lutter King, black man, died because he defended the right of equality for blacks that many years later haven´t yet reached even have a black president. This man repeated one sentence: I have a dream ... that is very famous. That dream dpesn´t have yet come to USA.

  11. Something which caught my eye was the mother who went to her son when he was in the protest in Baltimore. The boy is sixteen years old.

The mother called Toha Graham was in her house watching TV and she saw her son in the protest, and she decided to go there and bring her son home. We can see in the video as the mother hits to the boy; she tells him to return home. It´s incredible how she dares to go there to save her son. It is an example of how the other parents should educate their children. For me she is a courageous mother and so it´s because she has six daughters and the boy. Now, she hasn’t got a job and she educates her children alone. She doesn’t want Michael to join any gang as there are too many in the city. She heard a shot and she came to the street to see what happened and she saw a young boy on the street and he was dying, the people of the gang left and they abandoned the teenager there. For this Toha doesn’t want this for Michael. She was congratulated by Baltimore’s authorities.

It´s true that this year too many coloured people have died, and I think that sometimes the only reason is that they are color person. I have seen various cases of this type on TV. There are some police officers men who have killed coloured people without any reason, and this is unacceptable in the century which we live. It is obvious that racism is still present.

Another problem is that the use of weapons is permitted in the USA, and so all the people can have access to them. This is another cause of conflicts between citizens and police forces. And they can be very violent with them. We must react and say no to racism.
