BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  3. It is a very funny article. I didn't know that cows contribute to global warming.
I think that cows can't live in a bubble because they must be free tto go where they want, and this is very artificial. Humans also contribute to global warming, with our cars and factories, and we don´t think about introducing us in a bubble. So, it is verry ridiculous to think that we can stop global warming if we do this to cows.
A solution could be to eat less meat because we have a lot of meat everyday, and this is bad for our health. So, there will be less cows and we will be healthier.

  4. The text says that there are some scientists and experts that have studied how cow farts contribute to global warming. There are lots of cows in the world (about 1.3 to 1.5 billion) and their farts expel a big amount of methane gas, so that's a problem. Methane gas is very harmful for the environment, and it contributes to wipe out the ozone layer.

For this problem, scientists and experts have proposed some solutions:

One of the solutions is putting garlick in cows' food, because it helps them to expel less methane gas.
Another solution is adding plants with high levels in tannis to their diet.

Finally, some farms have experimented putting their cows into a plastic bubble, which takes the expelled gas and turns it into electricity.

I reckon that it's cruel and inhuman. Animals shouldn't live inside artificial bubbles.

So what's the conclusion of the text?
I really think that cow farts really contribute to Global Warming, although we have just seen that there are several solutions to reduce methane gas. If cows change their diet, they will expel less methane gas.

  5. At the present time,a lot of people who are worried about our planet declare that the pollution of the air has incredibly increased because of the emission of toxic gases, so the planet Earth could be in danger of extinction. Today we are aware of the hole in the ozone layer and that we are destroying the earth with our productive activities, so many governments concerned about environmental issues are taking messures to reduce this pollution and to ensure a healthy environment for future generations.

On the one hand, I’ve found this article very funny, because usually, when I think of pollution, I don’t usually think about cow farts, but on the large factories that there are all around the world, the millions of cars or the planes, which emit a lot of toxic gases into the atmosphere. Therefore, this article is a little ridiculous to me, because in my opinion, we shouldn’t blame our environmental problems to poor animals that maybe have existed in the earth longer than humans, considering that we we are the main pollutants.

On the other hand, not do only humans pollute the environment with toxic gases, but also destroying wildlife because of the building of roads or cities, since forests are the lungs of the Earth and they contribute to clean the polluted air. In addition, we pollute the planet throwing rubbish into the sea or using pesticides to fumigate the field.

In conclusion, I believe that life on Earth is in danger of extinction, but it isn’t too late to avoid it. There are many organizations concerned about the environment that do demonstrations to try people to recycle or to use bikes instead of the cars. In many countries of northern Europe, people are greatly concerned about this issue, but in my opinion, Spain is not one of the leading countries in recycling. To avoid this, I believe that children should learn in school ways to preservere the environment.

  6. COWS LOOK LIKE CARS.

When we talk about greenhouse gas emissions, the first image that comes to our mind is industries, chimneys, exhaust fumes ... The use of fossil fuels in cities is the primarily responsible of global warming, but agriculture and livestock also contribute to emissions. Cows, during the digestive process, emit between 500 and 800 litres of methane a day... That equivalent to the emissions of a car that travels about 100 kilometres.

But always there have existed the big bovine animals, and as ruminants, they have always emitted methane. The country continues growing, and more people demand meat.

In my opinion, I reckon that it is ridiculous, because cows emitted methane before, not only now. We want to blame animals of our actions and their consequences, but the climate change is caused by the men, and we know the reason why it is produced. All species, including humans, after eating, we make the digestion, and it produces the corresponding waste, therefore, we can't blame other species, because humans are the originators of global warming. We also have to think that the gasses are natural, so we can't prevent them.

  8. Nowadays, global warming is a really important problem and we should all be worried about it. It's caused by many gases, among them the methane. Methane gas emitted by cows and other livestock does have a significant impact on the amount of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, which are the main culprits behind climate change and global warming. So, do cow farts really significantly contribute to global warming?

On the one hand, there are approximately 1.5 million cows in the world and they emit gases through farts and, above all, burps. Besides, these gases contain a lot of methane, a gas that is much worse than gases like C02. According to the studies, since the turn of the 19th century, methane gas emissions have increased by 150%, according to NASA’s Goddard Institute. Obviously, this is not just produced by ruminants but these animals are an important factor and this makes the livestock sector very concerned.

On the other hand, cows are very important animals and from which we can obtain many benefits, nevertheless, they contribute to the increase of global warming; so, what can we do? Scientists are already doing many studies and are trying to put solution to this problem, for example, they tried to put garlic in the food of cows and so far is giving good results because garlic directly attacks the organisms in the gut that produce methane. In addition, they are trying to discover how to use that gas to produce electricity.

All in all, the gases released by ruminants contribute to global warming. In my opinion, we cannot eliminate cows but we should look for a solution to reduce the damage caused by methane gas to our planet because global warming is very alarming.
