BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  3. "I HAVE A DREAM"

Martin Luther King Jr .; Atlanta, 1929 - Memphis, 1968 American Baptist minister, civil rights advocate. The long struggle of black Americans to achieve full rights met since 1955 an acceleration in whose leadership would emphasize very soon the young pastor Martin Luther King. His non-violent action, inspired by the example of Gandhi, mobilized a growing share of the African American community, culminating in the summer of 1963 in the historic march on Washington, which drew 250,000 protesters.

There, at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King delivered the most famous of his splendid and moving speeches, known for the formula that led the vision of a just world: I have a dream.

Despite the arrests and police or racist attacks, the movement for civil equality was starting judicial decisions and legislative decisions against apartheid and won the endorsement of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to King in 1964. Unfortunately, doom seems drag the apostles of nonviolence: like his teacher Gandhi, Martin Luther King fell assassinated four years later.

Obviously, the dream of Martin Luther King has not come true, the rights of black people are still lower than those of whites in the USA. Although the road is long and hard there are many people who don't abandon this dream.

  5. Michael King Jr. or Martin Luther King Jr., as we know him, was born and raised on Atalanta’s Auburn Avenue on January 15, 1929. He was an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He was best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs.

King became a civil rights activist early in his career. He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, serving as its first president. King also helped to organize the 1963 March on Washington, where he gave his famous "I have a dream" speech. There, he established his reputation as one of the greatest orators in American history.

But unfortunately, on Thursday, April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr., who had retreated to room 306 of the Lorraine Motel, was killed by a white segregationist on his balcony, before his sermon in Memphis on Sunday. For all these reasons on the third Monday of January America and the whole world remember everything he did for America and for the civil rights, in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day., (which is the date where he was born).

In my view, he was with Mandela, two of the most influent people that have fought for the black people rights, and what’s more important, in a nonviolent way. Both of them searched the equality between white and black people, one in America and the other in South Africa and I reckon that without them we would be in an unfair world (even more that it’s in our days).

Thank you M. Luther King for giving us a fairer world.

  7. Martin Luther King was in Atlanta in 1929. His natal name was Michael King Jr, but after a trip with his family to Germany, Michael King Mr decided to change his own name to Martin Luther King, in honor of Martin Luther.
I know a bit of Martin Luther King, I know he fought against the racism to the black persons.
I’m going to talk about the incident of racism on a bus that is related to Luther King. A white man asked the black woman to yield him the seat of the bus, but she refused it and she was arrested by the police. Because of this incident, Martin Luther King decided to initiate a protest in opposition to the racial segregation that was suffering his city. He said at the black people of the town to not use the bus until this racism was eradicated completely. Finally, one year later of the beginning of the opposition against the racism on the buses, this type of racism was declared as illegal.
In 1963, he headed with other 250 000 persons, a march for improving the living conditions and integration of the black population of the south of the country. In this pacific he recited his famous speech “I have a dream ". On 14th October in1964, with only 35 years, he received the Nobel Prize on the Peace.

Unfortunately, on 4th April in 1968 he was murdered in Memphis's motel by James Earl Ray.

  10. Martin Luther King Jr is a very well known man in American History. He was a black American Baptist minister who fought for the rights of African Americans in the 50s and 60s. He is mostly known for his iconic speech "I Have a Dream" which he delivered at the March on Washington in 1963. This speech changed the American laws and tendences against African Americans forever. It was truly inspirational. One of his most remembered sentences from the speech was "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.".

He was a massive believer in protesting in a non violent way. So, instead of protesting by attacking the racist white leaders (who held all the power at the time) by using weapons and bombs etc, he decided to get his message across by organizing speeches and marches where him and his fellow anti-apartheid supporters would chant and hold up banners. One of his most famous protests/marches took place in Birmingham in the state of Alabama.

He was a wonderful, peaceful person who made our world a better place but sadly not everyone supported his protests to gain rights for the African Americans. On the 4th of April 1968 he was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee whilst standing on a balcony at a motel where he was staying at.

He is gone, but he will never be forgotten.
