It is snowing all over Europe, even in Spain, in parts you would never imagine. At school yesterday we could see some snowflakes falling and we can see all the mountains around us full of snow. ResponderEliminarThe expression duck is used in the English Midlands. This is a form of address to speak politely to someone. Pay attention to it if you hear it, but don’t be hurt as it is just a friendly thing to say. They usually use it when they talk with people with the same age as them or younger people. What’s more, in Glasgow, they use hen instead, but only when they talk to women. Another one is pet, which is used in the North East of England.
On the contrary, my most prized possession is a ring. It is special because it was given to me by my grandma. I think people have small possessions but they mean a huge amount of feelings for them.
All in all, I reckon that English has lovely ways to name people; in Spanish we have other greetings, but more informal.

In this text commentary I am going to write about what is my most treasured possession and the greeting Duck.
ResponderEliminarThe duck is a expression used in the English Midlands. It is a form of leadership to speak politely to someone. They usually use it when talking to people the same age as them or younger people. In Glasgow, he uses the name Hen instead, but only when they talk to women. Another denomination of the mascot, that is used in the northeast of England.
Just like in English, in Spanish there are different ways of addressing people; When we turn to someone much older than us ( for example, an adult) or someone to who you have respect towards we usually refer to them as "you", but when you are relaxed and trust eachother we "tutear"
On the other hand, my most precious possession is a pair of sunglasses and a watch that my grandfather gave me and have always kept with a lot of care.
People have things that are important by them because it´s has an important meaning. Also, people use a different way to salute someone. In this comment, I´m going speaking about these things.

I think that things remember persons or situations and it causes that it is more important than us. In each country there are different ways to expression because have different costumes.

There are many types of greeting people, `` Hello duck''is just one more among all there is. People have things that are very important to them either by economic meaning or by a sentimental meaning.

There are other things that are very important for people such as grandmother heritages or things like that, for example a necklace from your grandmother that leaves you in inheritance will be very important for you because of the sentimental meaning that binds you to it.
`` Hello duck'' is used to talk to people younger than you or your own age, like this in England in Spain there are ways to greet depending on how you are for example young people say `` Hello Uncle'' or Some time ago it became fashionable to greet with a simple `` yee'' everything depends on the area and the generation
"Hi, Duck" is one of the many others ways of greeting someone, It´s most used in English Midlands, You probably ask yourself when does people uses it, people uses it when they are talking to someone who has the same age or younger, It´s just a simply and a friendly way to greet someone
ResponderEliminarPersonally, I didn´t know about this greet, but I have seen many others ways, And for sure the most used in online games is "Hey Bro"
Finally, I think my most prized possesion would be my telescope, because I love astronomy and my parents bought me the telescope when I was only seven, of course I didn´t know how to use it, but after some years I learned.
During this summer I´ve used it a lot, almost every morning I get up to see Venus, In my opinion the easiest planet to see, you can see it early in the morning, like 6 or 7 o´clock, it´s the most brilliant star in the sky and it´s located in North East, I have also seen International Space Station almost every night and It´s just awesome the speed it has

Snow makes me happy because I can play with it and because seeing it fall behind the window is very nice.
In my town it doesn't snow much. I wish it snowed more.
The abundant snow is also detrimental to agriculture, to transport ... it make schools close.

In Lanjarón, in December or January usually fall little snow in the high mountains. Every year, my family and I go up to the cottage and we play with the snow, there is not usually so much, but enough to make a snowman, also we wear it with gloves, a carrot, buttons... It is very funny to play with my cousins!
ResponderEliminarI love playing with the snow, but I hate that it is so cold and not feel my hands. While we are doing the snowman, we always are going to the fire to warm our hands, because our gloves are wet and we don´t move our hands.
Sometimes the snow can be dangerous, but I think that in Lanjarón fall is the perfect lot for can enjoy it and that it doesn´t annoy us day to day.
