BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Some advice for your fellow students 2018

The school year is coming to an end and I would like you to read old students' advice (and here) and then give some advice to the students that will follow your steps. Try to be sincere and, using appropriate advice structures, tell them what they should do. Include the level you are referring to at the beginning of your comment.

Activities for my 2º ESO students:  What would you do if you were in 3º ESO now? Tell me the things you are doing next year (already arranged), the things you are going to do (plans, decisions) and some general predictions about what will happen.

For example, this is Albert telling you about next year:

1. We are reading Factfiles - England in the first term (here's the list of textbooks for school year 2017-2018)

2. I'm going to put more exercises in my site to help my students.

3. I think my students will get much better results because they will be more responsible.

Here's an example. Pay attention to the structures used and also have a look at this (and then listen to the episode)

Other examples:
I'm a student of 2º ESO and I would like to give you some advice if you are in 2º ESO next year with Albert:

  • I think you should....
  • You must....
  • You have to.....
  • Study everyday...
  • Don't  keep your things untidy....
  • If I were you, I would....
  • If I were in your shoes, I would...
  • You'd better....
  • And remember TO ADVISE, SPELT WITH AN S, IS THE VERB (I'd advise you to do sth) and ADVICE, SPELT WITH A C, IS AN UNCOUNTABLE NOUN (My piece of advice for you is...  OR I will give you some advice about...)

Write a comment giving your advice and tell me if you find any other useful structure or vocabulary connected with the issue.

  1. I didn't think what would I do if I were in 3ºESO now, I thought ¨What would I do in 3ºESO?´.
Well, in 3ºESO I will not do much, basically I will study more because 3ºESO is more difficult than 2ºESO. Five months are left for my entry in 3ºESO, so soon I will know how is this path.
At first, it will be stressy for the chnage, but in few days it will be normal for me again like in 2ºESO. Pass this school year is a step to get a good job in the future.

  2. If you are going to pass to 2 Bach, you must know these things.
There a lot of changes from 1º to 2º. For example there are really difficult subjects that make you to study everyday if you want to pass it. If you don't study everyday you can't pass the exams but if you do everyday your homework and study things that you learn at class at the same day you will pass sure the exams.

Is better that if you can, you should do thing at summer of homework to have little to do along the year. For example if you do 15 coment or more along the summer you will have to do less coments than your partners, and you can use more time to study for your exams.

You must be organized because you need to admin the time, and admin the books and the notebooks because you will need it to the next termns, and for selectivity.

  3. If you are going to pass next school year to 2ºBach, it is very important to know these useful pieces of advice. This is Andrea telling you about next year:

-I think you should read all the reading books during the summer. Besides, you should do
the activities included in the book and the projects.

-You must revise the irregular verbs, if not you won’t be able to write them properly.

-You have to do lots of exercises that you will find in Albert’s site. As well, you will
    find some mock exams.

-Study every day, especially new grammar structures.

-If I were you, I would write all the comments (you can do some of them during the
summer). Once Albert corrects them, you should post them in your own blog.

-Don’t keep your notes untidy, you should save them in your site to revise them whenever
    you need.

-You’d better do all the old Selectivity exams. The more exams you do, the better for
    you.

And remember time is money. You have to get organized and take things a day. This is your most important year, so you have to do your best.

  4. If you are going to pass next school year to 2ºBach, it´s very important to know these useful pieces of advice.
Don´t leave for tomorrow what you can do today. There will be subjects with a lot of syllabus in the same exam so you should study every day a little and avoid that you accumulate everything. Your grades will be much better than if you study the day before.

It works like ants. It´s necessary that you work every day at home, either studying or doing homework. I recommend you to make summaries of what you have studied that day and thus make things clearer.

Attend class, really, in a one class you can advance much and more in this course in which the time you have is very limited.

In the case of English, I recommend that you do all the exercises, comments, projects and that you read the books because all this can help you to pass. In addition, many of these things can be done during the summer and thus be more relaxed during the year.
Finally, remember that this is a very important year and there will be times when you see yourself overwhelmed by things but stay calm, you can do it.

  6. If you manage to pass the course to 2 bach you should take into account some tips:

First, this course is a roller coaster, you will go through many fun and stressful moments, so I advise you to organize yourself from the beginning of the course. If you do not do nothing, you are always in time to "catch up" and catch up.

In addition, it is very important that you take with the people in your class, but it is more important that you do not let influence by the problems that occur or what they say, after all who has to approve is you, the rest is not it matters
Be kind, be respectful, be sociable, but do not forget that you have to go straight in the course.

However, you should not think that you can study the exams the day before. Sometimes you will not have another solution, because at the end of the course everything is a test lottery one day, yes and another too. So it is important that every day you read at home what you have given in class, in the end you will appreciate it.

Not only do you need to organize with the subjects, but with the exams, the diagrams and chronological axes will be very helpful.

To summarize, I have to tell you that as you make several exams you will notice that there are different subjects that are related, and if you block an exam, you will use the subject of another related subject.

  7. Hello students, I'm Alex and I'm doing 2ºBachillerato this year. In this short comment I'll give some advice for those students who are doing 2ºBachillerato next year. These are my tips:

-I think you should do homework everyday, even when you don't have much time.

    - You should read the three reading books, it is very useful reading them in summer if you want to fell relaxed. Moreover, you'd better do the book activities and their projects.

    - It is convenient to study a little grammar. For this, Alberto's site is very useful, there you can see the most important rules and exceptions about conditional sentences, direct speech, indirect speech, passive voice, active voice, questions, ....

    - If you want to have a good level writing, you must do the twenty five comments, you can do them on summer, Albert corrects them free and doesn't charge you anything.

-Study the irregular verbs, Alberto always puts them in his exams.

    - You'd better do all Selectivity exams you can, the more you do, the more you will increase your english level.

    - In your compositions, it is important to introduce some high level structures to do them more attractive and easy to read.

    - You should be organized and control very well your time.

With these tips I think you will do an excelent 2ºBachillerato, an important year is coming to you!!

-You should do all the comments during the summer.

-You should also hand in your compositions in time because if you don't, you will not have time to finish them all

-I believe that you should write all you notes in your blog, as it will easier when it comes to studying.

-Practise for exams doing grammar exercises from Albert’s site, and there are mock exams, too.

-You should also post all your comments in your blog.

  16. I think that language learning is one of the most useful things today. If I could, in the future, I would like to speak lots of languages. It's something that I love doing. I think it's so nice learning new ways of speaking and writing and learning new cultures that I never known before.

Most people think that learning new languages is boring, but I don't think so! It's really interesting. When you go somewhere else in Europe or in the world, you can speak languages that you learned some time ago to speak to other people in that country. I think that could be amazing!

Next year, I'm going to have my B1 in English. I hope I will get a good grade.
