BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  7. Charles Dickens was born on 7th of February 1812. He was the second child of 8. His family moved to London in 1822 and at the age of 12, Charles had to start to work on a Blacking Factory labelling bottles 11 hours a day. His father was sent to prison and he visited him every Sunday. In 1827 he began to work as a solicitor´s clerk. Later, in 1831, he began a journalistic career; writing became his passion. In 1835 he meets Catherine, they fell in love and got married. In 1842, they travelled to America. When he was 44, he bought a very big house and got divorced because he had an affair with an actress called Helen . In 1865, he had a train crash while he was returning from Paris. He continued writing and later in 1870, his health began to fail and he died at home on 9th June at the age of 58. He´s buried in Westminster Abbey.

About the Christmas Carol novel, I really enjoyed reading it because the story was very interesting and entertaining. The story is about a mean old man, called Scrooge, who only cared about making money. He didn´t like Christmas and his life changed when he recieved the visit of three ghosts, on Christmas Eve. The ghosts showed him his past, his present and his future . He didn´t like his future so he decided to become a better person helping poor people and spending Christmas with his nephew.

Charles John Huffam Dickens (1812-70) was born in Portsmouth, in England. He was a writer and English novelist, the most recognized of universal literature. His works include descriptions of people and places, both real and imaginary. His works and stories were very popular during his life and he wrote serial novels.

His life was very hard. His family was very poor and his life changed when his father went to prison because he could not pay his bills. After that, Dickens was sent to work in a factory and he only got six shillings a week. He wrote about his terrible moments in his novel David Copperfield. Then he wrote three more novels: Oliver Twist,Nicholas Nickleby and The Old Curiosity Shop, which were very successful.

  12. The story of Chirstmas Carol is about an old man, bad, miserable and growling called scrooge. He worked in his business and he only cared about making money and he was always thinking how to get more money. Besides, he did not like Christmas and thought it was a humbug.
In Christmas Eve, his life changed when he was visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley to tell him that three more spirits would visit him on Christmas Eve: the ghost of the past, present and future to help him change his life.

The ghost of the past when it visited him, it teach him his lonely childhood, Bella who was his girlfriend when he was young and the death of his sister.

The second ghost that visited him was the ghost of the present, he taught his nephew having dinner with his family at Christmas, which was poor but very happy.

Finally, the ghost of the future taught him to explore his future. Scrooge saw himself alone in a room and saw his own grave and that he was alone because nobody wanted it.

Scrooge did not like his future because he did not want to die alone and changed his way of being with others.

So when Christmas finally arrives, scrooge was a very different person, kind, good person and who liked Christmas.

  15. In my opinion the book of Christmas Carol is an interesting and an amaizing book, because it tells us a beautiful story about a mean old man.
In this story you can see a progress in this mean old man from the start of the story until the finish of the story, and you can see that some people change quickly when they see the consequence of his actions and he feels sorry for all the actions he did in the past. As he realises the consequence of his actions he can make a change in his life and he begins to behave well with everybody.

The writer of the book of Christmas Carol is Charles Dickens he was an English writer and he created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime, critics and scholars have recognised him as a literary genius.
In my opinion I don´t like the first films of Christmas Carol, but the newest films are in my opinion more interesting and better made than the others. But I prefer, in this case, the book because I think that it tells the story in a more simple and better way than the films.

  16. Charles Dickens was an English writer and novelist, the best known of universal literature, wrote many novels. A Christmas Carol is a short novel written by Charles Dickens.

The book by Christmas Carol presents the story of old Scrooge, a stingy and lonely man without friends and who is not kind to anyone. One night, his former partner appears, died seven years ago and offers him something that a first sight does not catch his attention and is blamed for being crazy and seeing ghosts but later ends up saving his life. Three spirits appear to Scrooge three nights in a row: that of the past, the present and the future and they show him different scenes in different situations and with different companies that happened, are happening and will happen if Scrooge does not change the way he acts in front of the world.

Dickens uses the three Christmas spirits and the old and sarcastic Scrooge to show the reader how important it is to be a good person with others.

It is not a very famous work, nor is it the best known of Dickens.

The story is also presented in several movies, but I like it more as it comes in the book told the story.

My opinion: Ami seemed like an entertaining and interesting book.
I did not expect the older man to change.

  17. Charles Dickens was a very important novel writer and he lived in London for many years. He worked as a journalist, but at the end he worked as a novel writer. A Christmas Carol is one of his most famous novels.

This last mentioned novel tells us the story of a very angry and avaricious man who was lonely and without friends. One night, his dead work mate died time ago appeared in ghost. He told him that three ghost were going to visit him to change his life. Each one of this ghosts carried Scrooge to the past, the present and the future. When Scrooge visits the future with the last ghost, he sees his grave and he thought that if he doesn't change, he'll die lonely and without friends. So he changed and he wasn't angry with people and avaricious any longer.

Charles Dickens tries to show the reader that if you are a bad and lonely person, you'll be alone in your life, so that's why being a good person is so important.

I think Dickens is a very good writer because I loved this novel and it showed me a lot of things I didn't know. In my opinion it's a very good novel and a lot of more people should read it.

The Angles came from the Anglia peninsula in the Bay of Kiel area (present-day German state of Schleswig–Holstein) of the Baltic Sea.Before it was part of UE but the last year it wasn´t part of the UE.
