BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

READING AND COMPREHENSION

A. Read this text carefully:

It was early morning on August 6th, 1945 in the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Tens of thousands of people were on their way to work, travelling on trams and buses and walking through the crowded streets. Thousands more were already at work. The war had finished in Europe in May, but it was not yet over in the Pacific. However, Hiroshima was strangely quiet and untouched by war. American planes had flown over the city many times in the past few months, but had not dropped their bombs. The people of the city found it difficult to believe their luck. Hiroshima was an industrial city with an important naval base and they could not understand why the Americans had not bombed it like nearly every other city in Japan. They were tense and afraid. Every day they expected the American planes to come.

That morning at 8.15 a man was sitting on the marble steps of a large bank in the city's financial area. Perhaps he had sat down on the steps to wait for the bank to open. Perhaps he was a bank worker waiting to start work. We will never know. But we do know a man was sitting there because at the very moment an atomic bomb, the most terrible and powerful weapon ever made, exploded over the city. First there was a blinding flash of light, then a blast which destroyed every building for kilometres around, then a fire-storm, and finally, silence. Not one atom of the man  sitting on the steps remained after the explosion, but in Hiroshima today it is still possible to see his shadow - the shape of a seated man burnt black onto the marble stone.

Now decide if these statements are TRUE or FALSE :

At 8.15 on August 6th, 1945...

(1) Many people were going to work in Hiroshima.  __________

(2) There was still a war in Europe.   __________

(3) The Japanese were still at war.   __________

(4) The Americans had bombed many Japanese cities.   __________

(5) Many Japanese cities were undamaged by bombing.   __________

(6) An atomic bomb exploded over Hiroshima.   __________                                          / 3

  2. One should not look for love. It should come when you are ready and you find the
correct person for you. When love is forced, it may not work and things can end bad.
If it is bad, then you should not get depressed, it is becouse she may not be the perfect person for you. Valentine Day is a very beautiful day, but you should show love everyday and not just buy presents. My favourite love song is Al of You, by John
    Legend.

  4. You are the reason by Calum Scott, is definitely my favourite love song.

The song is about a man who broke up with his girlfriend and realises that she is the love of his life and he wants her back. He´s saying that she is the reason he´s losing his sleep, she is the reason he´s still breathing and she is the reason his hands start to shake. He´d climb every mountain and swim every ocean just to be with her again and fix what he had broken.

In my opinion, it´s a sad love song because it is about a separation but I love the lyrics. We should always fight for the person we love!

  6. One of my favourite love song is "Love of my love" by Queen.

In this song, Freddy Mercury, the singer of the group, sings to who he considers the love of his life, Mary Austin. This is a beautiful song, where the singer want to express the grief that he feel because according to the song, nobody can feels what he feels or live what he lives.

Personally, I love this song, because it is simple but it transmit a lot, speacially for tha way to sing of Freddy.

  7. All my loving by Beatles, it´s a song that I love for it´s meaning.

In this song, The Beatles talk about love with a certain optimism towards his lover that has a relationship in the distance.

The song is a change in the sound of the band since they sang happy songs but this song leaves us a bittersweet taste with her letter.

But In my opinion If you love something distance doesn´t matter and you trust that person

  8. My favourite love song is "You Are the Only One" by the Russian singer Sergey Lazarev.

In this song the Sergey is saying to a girl that she is the only girl that he love. The song has very beautiful lyrics and a great live performance like the one in Eurovision. But the characteristic I love the most is its melody. It isn't a ballad like most of the love songs, it has a strong melody.

Another love song that I love is "Always" by Bon Jovi.

This song talks about a man who broke with his girlfriend, but he hasn't forgotten her and he says that he will love her and he will be there forever. He also says that if she told him to cry or die for her, he would do it.

In my opinion these are the best love songs in English that I've listened to. But I think that there isn't only one kind of love (a relationship), I think there are mor kinds of love like the love between a father and a child and I listen to many songs that talks about this kind of love.
