BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

COVID-19 outbreaks everywhere!!!!

We have to be really careful because the solution to this pandemic hasn't been found yet. Every time we go out or meet other people, it is essential to be sensible and not be foolish as most of the outbreaks now are affecting young people in Spain, Britain...

We won't be safe until we find a vaccine!!!

Here are 2 situations to make comparisons with 2 different structures:

  • First, you obviously have the comparatives. Here's a quizz: REVISION OF THE COMPARATIVES    (for my 4º ESO students)

  • Secondly, at a more advanced level (for my 1º Bachillerato students) you can also make comparisons by using this structure:  English in a Minute:  'As if' vs 'As though'   (BBC Learning English)

  1. In my opinion, we have gone too fast, we should not have gone in phases, but we should have waited for the virus to be completely eliminated from Spain.
And so we would only have to worry about those who come from abroad.
I think we have done well in some aspects but not so much in others, because although we have to respect the safety distance and have the mask on, not everyone respects it.
And I think that the virus is getting out of control again, and that is that in all pandemics there is a second wave, but I think that by 2020 we already have enough knowledge to cushion this second wave with the Oxford vaccine, although neither you have to rush since vaccines at the beginning can have side effects.

  2. We have been three months in lockdown. Now, we can go out and go shopping, meet our friends or eating at a restaurant. Tourists are coming again and we are slowly returning to our lifestyle from before the lockdown.

It is great that we can already go out after three months at home, but many people aren't wearing face masks and they aren't respecting social distance. Because of this, there are many regrowths. Some of them affects to many people and in some cases the zone had to return to phase 2 or even to the lockdown.

We have to be careful with the regrowths because if one of them becomes too big, we could be in the same situations as we were in March. We already have seen some big regrowths and a man who is asymptomatic and has infected people in Catalonia and Valencia.

In my opinion we shouldn't have opened pubs and shopping centres because people will make big reunions even if you don't want to. I think we should have stayed like how we were in phase 1 or phase 2 until there is a vaccine.

  3. We have been stuck in our house for three months without being able to go out and now we can go out but with great care because we cannot be as established before this virus since we cannot hug or group many people.
We have had to go through some phases to be able to return to the new "normality" but it has had places that have had to be closed again since there are many infections. There are more and more infections because some people do not do things to what they are told so that there are no infections, many people have parties where many people gather, they go out into the street without a mask ...
I think that we will be locked up again right now because there are many infections, although right now they will remove the vaccine but until they remove it we should respect the distance, carry out the mask, not make meetings of many people ... There are scientists who They say that this virus is behaving like the Spanish flu, in the first outbreak there were infections and in the summer it was more controlled, but after the summer there were many deaths.

  4. Although we are in the new normality, many people are still scared and afraid about the virus which have affected millions of people. Coronavirus have changed our way of life, our vision of reality and even the enviroment.

The way of live is a bit different since we have been in lockdown. For 3 months more or less we not were allowed to see our friends and family face to face. We could only talk with them by videocall or by text message.
Luckily, now we can go out with family and friends. Restaurants are open and people can travel to other countries to discover new cultures, that is to say that airlines are open.

Even though we can lead a normal life we have to be aware of the situation we are living. We can not forget people who have died and the situation lived in hospital.
Security measures are clear. We must follow it. Wearing a face-mask is mandatory, everyone should wear one wherever they go. At first it was not compulsory if you kept the safety distances of 2 meters, but weeks later the law changed. Another important security measure is constantly disinfect hands.

Not everything is good now, there are regrowths in many parts of Spain. Fortunately most of them are controlled. Many people are not doing things well, they don't wear a mask face or even they gets together with many people without keeping his distance. They think that they haven't got the virus but they can be asymptomatic. We have to be conscious about the situation and we are not safe until a new vaccine is created

Anyone can tell us safely when things will return to normality. Now we don't have information about what is going to happen with education and schools. Everybody knowns that childreen and teenagers have not learned as much as they would have under nomal conditions. Now we have to wait to September to know what will happen with education.

From my point of view, we have to do everything that they advise us. Everything will get worse if we don't wear our face-mask. There are many things that we don't know yet, but we should be quiet.

  5. In my opinion, all the celebrities, people, companies ... who have money, should give a small amount of money to those who are investigating the covid vaccine, because the sooner they get it, the sooner this will end.

  6. In this new coronavirus era a lot of things have changed for a lot of people who have seen their business closed and many others are now broke because of that. The pandemic has even affected education both, schools and universities. In the political spectrum there is a lot of tension due to the decisions taken by some rulers. But even with all those issues a lot of people are behaving in irresponsibly as if they have forgotten the three months lockdown, those irresponsibly and selfish people don`t seem to remember how they felt when they went out to their balconies at 8:00pm to clap their hands in support for the doctors fighting against the virus.
Maybe the reason of all these new outbreaks apart from the lack of a treatment or a useful vaccine, or the fact that people nowadays get tired of things so quickly that unless you force them to what is good for everyone they won't probably do the right thing.

  7. After 3 months in quarantine, staying at home and fighting to reduce the victims of this virus, we reached the summer and we started to enjoy normally, like years ago, before the COVID-19 came to our lifes. We can stay calm, but when summer will end we probably get this virus causing more problems.

We need to wear face masks yet, but even so people don't respect the respecting distance between ours. Even if we control the situation and there are less cases, we can get the virus and with this actions we are only going to get infected faster. However, no matter how many times they repeat it, people don't respect these conditions.
It's obvious that we need to live with this virus more months, lots of months more, and if we don't pay attetion to the conditions and we don't be careful, we won't get out to this mundial problem.

In my opinion, we can continue exactly how we are acting, but get focus on this virus and colaborate, that assures us a normal life like last year. Think about it and colaborate to reach that purpose!

  8. After what have been at least three months of phased quarantine, all the locations of Spain started to open up. Bussiness and social places like discotheques, parks and the bars and restaurants near mayor places that tend to be full of people like football stadiums. And this maybe wouldn´t be a problem if it wasnt because many of this places, as well than the people who attends them, frequently don´t follow the safety rules,or just, any kind of rule coming from common sense.

In my case, how I am used to have a style of life that apparently was called quarantine, so I´m used to not have any problem with staying at home and not meeting people outdoors. Technology and the constant advances in the gaming market as well as what feels like an unlimited amount of videogames in platforms like Steam or Epic Games makes the quarantine very easy if you´re into the "gamer culture". But this comes with a cost after all, since most people like me, and I mean students and young people in general, lives with thetir parents or someone older than them, or people that just arent into videogames, they can think(and easily judge) that you may have a problem.

There are other alternatives to make time pass by in your house, like laying board games, watching new series or movies that you never saw or rewatch the ones you like more, getting into interesting communities like the Marble League, currently going right now hosted by Team Galactic, learning how to bake cakes, read something interesting, excercising at home, or just stay on social media talking to people and many other things that i didn´t mention because I didn´t thought about them or I´m just too lazy to do it.

  9. My opinion of volunteers is that people think more about their health and that of others. that they do not endanger their lives or the lives of others.

Spain these last days you only see in the news, people who skip security, do not wear a mask, do not keep the safety distance... All these outbreaks that are coming out are by the majority of young people, we ignore the indications that they give us.

People still do not realize, that if we continue at this pace is very likely that we stay at home again for a long time. In Great Britain things are more or less the same, they have more infections than Spain, foreigners who are on vacation in Spain and return to their country, have to be confined for 15 days at home, unable to leave their homes. The English protest that they may lose their job, but we must comply with the recommendations they tell us.

In conclusion, we must be more responsible, follow the rules that we are set, not skip the rules, take care of our family and friends. If you have the virus, tell your family and friends that you have been with lately, you do not have to be ashamed to know that you have the Covid, on the contrary if you say it before, you can save many lives including yours.

  11. When coronavirus appeared in China everybody thought that '' it is not dangerous it is so away. But when it have moved for other countries and continents the thing changed.

And after came the afraid. All countries discussed how will fight the new pandemic many of countries clossed fronteds but in the countries that tjis virus spread like powder was so late. They decided to quarantine us. The OMS gave rules of advice that we have to follow to avoid more deaths.

In Spain the gouvenament quarantained us thirteen of march. People go to the supermark and they bought all they can for if there was food crisis. But only this type of jobs that was necesary for everyone continued working like me and my family because we have to recolected nisporas. The school gave a opportunity to a lot of people because it was more easier than before quarantine.

In my opinion we will go back to quarentine in September because the virus is not stopping.
