BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

TREKKING IN LAS ALPUJARRAS (SIERRA NEVADA), RANDONÉE, SENDERISMO

TREKKING IN LAS ALPUJARRAS, RANDONÉE À LAS ALPUJARRAS, SENDERISMO EN LAS ALPUJARRAS

My family and I love trekking around this nice area of the south of Spain and we are asked many times by tourists what kind of treks they can do in the area. So I will try to give useful information about this and also about accomodation or restaurants to eat or bars to have a drink and good 'tapas' (snaps). All the information included will be very subjective and just intend to be helpful for everyone who visits Las Alpujarras and more specifically the Barranco del Poqueira.

  -          Capileira-Puente Abuchite–Cebadilla- Capileira
  -          Capileira- Puente Chiscal- Puente Abuchite- Capileira

-    Bubión - Buddhist retreat centre ( O.SEL.LING Retreat Center ) From Bubión you descend to the river (Molino Bridge) and when you go up you'll come to a T-juction: to the right you have the way to Capileira through Chiscal Bridge and to the left you have the way to Pampaneira (Sendero Local la Atalaya). Once the track comes to the highest point and you are about to descend, you will find an abandoned cottage on the right. You pass by and try to follow a zig-zag track up to a main road that connects some nice inhabited cottages and that takes you to the Centre. It takes two hours. So if you go, stay there for an hour and come back, that will take you about 5 hours in total.
- Bubión-Junta de los Ríos (with the possibility of going to Hoya del Portillo)  >> 3 hours. You just go from Bubión towards Pitres and at the end of the track when you are about to descend to Pitres you will find a path on the left going up the mountain.
- Cañar-Lanjarón (enlace de interés)
- Capileira-Área recreativa de Puente Palo (unos 10 km)
- Área recreativa de Puente Palo - Tello
- Lanjarón - Tello (interesante página a visitar)

  1. My family also love trekking in the Alpujarra and whenever we can, we spend a weekend there. Sometimes we go to spend a relaxing weekend, other times we go to the field to pick chestnuts and mushrooms, and others we go to clear our heads and to get away from urban life and the routine. But we always had a great time and when we go back to Salobreña, we are looking forward to a day at the mountain.
Every summer my parents go on holiday, and as they have the beach here, they always go to the mountain, either Andalusia or Spain. They also love going to the parties in the villages of the Alpujarras and how they go there frequently, they have many friends there and have a great time with them.

Harry: Do you know any hiking routes in Granada?
Mary: Yes, I do. I think you should go to the Alpujarras bacause there are many trekking tráiler around there as it is full of mountains and forests.
Harry: I think that Sierra Nevada is better than Alpujarra.
Mary: No, it’s better because in Sierra Nevada there is only snow. You must go to Alpujarra trail because it's the best trail in Granada .
Harry: Okey, I will go to the Alpujarra trail.
