BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  1. In my opinion, writing letters is a great way to meet new people. two years ago I participated in this project with my language teacher at Nazarí Secondary School and I met a friend called Bryan, from France. We sent letters every month for a year, so he learned to write Spanish and I learned to write French. Them I added him to Facebook to know about his life. He lived in Montpellier, and he invited me to go there in Summer, but my parents would not let me go. Last Summer I went to Montpellier and I thought to go to visit him, but I was embarrassed. Two years ago I went on holiday to Bratislava, in Slovakia, and I loved the city, especially the Danube river and the Castle. People were very kind with us and their character were very similar to the Spanish, so I think that is a good country to send letters.

  2. As my classmate, Cristobal, says, we participated in a project like this with our language teacher at Nazarí Secondary School and we had the chance to meet people who live in France. I met a girl called Noémie. Firstly we sent many letters but then, she gave me her email and her “Facebook” and we started to chat every day, so we can know more things about our life like how our family and friends are because we can see our photos in “Facebook”.

I think that this Project is a good idea to help us meeting new people and meeting new friends. In fact, although I met Noémie two years ago, we are great friends, we continue chatting and talking on phone every month and she came to Salobreña last summer.

  3. As my colleagues, I think it's a great idea to meet new people and also to learn how to write a new language. Last year we had the opportunity to do it with a French school, but at the end it wasn’t carried out. The idea is great, but this year I have no time for anything and I often couldn’t write with a guy from Estonia or Slovakia. But I'm sure that getting in touch with any of these people weekly, we go slowly winning confidence and learning from each other.
I had a similar experience to this one with a Canarian guy. We started to talk by Tuenti and I never thought I would meet him. But surprisingly, last year I was awarded a grant to visit a scientific campus. I choose Canaries as first option for an oceanographic expedition and got it. I was there two weeks and I met Carlos. I had a great time and I continue talking to him. Although in our relationship nobody learned a new language, I love talking to him and I hope to see him again someday.

  4. I think it is a good idea because you can meet people from all the world and you can learn and practice more your English.
The last year I signed up for recived a letter of a girl or boy from Estonia or Slovakia because I like this idea of write letters whith a girl or boy from other country, but never I recived that letter. I don't know why I didn't have a letter, nobody told me what had happened with my letter.
I like this idea because I send letters whith a girl from France. She is very nice and she tell me thinks about her culture. With the letters I can know more about the differents countries that there are in the world, how is the life in these countries, how is the people and how is their culture.
The only downside is the time. The letter takes long time since you send until the girl or boy recive them. For this reason you can send few letters in a year and you have to wait the letter much time.
In general I like very much send letters to other boys from the world that they talk English or french because I can improve my English and my French and I can know more about the culture of the place where the boy is. Too, you can get a good friend that he or she has the same likes that you.
