BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Lack of commitment in our society and bipolar disorder

What does 'commitment' mean? Now that we come to the end of the school year, rate your teachers, your parents, your friends...and obviously yourselves regarding the degree of commitment you show in your everyday life.

Some people, especially politicians, are very keen on saying:

"Do as I say, not as I do" (6 Minute English, BBC Learning English)

This lack of commitment is the doom of our society, especially serious among our younger generations.

Have a look around and you will see that those people who succeed in life have a high degree of commitment to what they do, such is the case of Muhammed Ali, Rafa Nadal, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela...

We have also seen this bipolar disorder in the book we had to read in 4º ESO for the third term Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. Remember that R. L. Stevenson wrote this novel probably thinking about  the case of Deacon Brodie. Where did he live? What other famous novel was written by R.L. Stevenson?

Article to read:

The Real Jekyll & Hyde? The Deacon Brodie story (BBC)

And here's a cartoon film to watch about the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde  >>

Here's the link to the audiobook

Here's the project done by Alex España (4º ESO B)  >>>>
