BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

NO FEAR... Nothing gets me down!!

May is nearly gone and June is knocking on the door. We are tired, the weather conditions don't help... but we still have to struggle to reach the finish line and achieve our goals.

Summer holidays are just round the corner and we will always have time to rest and recover from another hard school year. Interacting with your friends and relatives will help, not social media!

A monster: the alliance of social media & mobile phones

It is not the first time I deal with the issue of ITC tools and an incorrect use by our teenagers and kids. Remember this post not long ago:  Loneliness, isolation, teenagers, sex!!!

... and now the case of social media and pornography related with young schoolchildren in many of our schools in Spain has come up. Our society, especially parents, must be very alert of all dangers and risks our children go through when they have a mobile phone in their hands.

Here I present you with listening exercise about the topic:  Social media and teenage health   (6 Minute English, BBC Learning English)

Here are some articles for you to read about the issue:

TRAINING, the key to success.

Training is essential in any kind of sport to have success. We've got examples such as Rafa Nadal in tennis, Pau Gasol in basketball... and this downhill mountain biker!!! Just amazing!!!

However, you cannot only train your muscles, but also your brain: BRAIN TRAINING (listening exercise, BBC Learning English - 6 Minute English). By the way, pay attention to the definition they give to the word 'bilingualism'.

Health and wellbeing:  Five ways to improve your brainpower (The Guardian)

To achieve this goal, you must obviously wipe out any kind of distractors such as pointless strikes, hormones or social media ("Is social media a distraction?" >>> Listening exercise from BBC Learning English - 6 Minute English).
