The hydrological year is coming to an end. In terms of rain water collected, experts take their measures from 1st October to 30th September.
As an example, not more than 500 litres have been collected in the weather station near Capileira over this period. Meanwhile, last year nearly 1,000 litres were collected and the average amount of water collected historically is over 700 litres. Therefore, the dams or reservoirs in Rules and Beznar have got less water than last year at this time.

At the same time you have just had some terrible floods in the south east of Spain due to a cold front. The climate change is a reality and people don't help. For instance, every time I play tennis at the sports facilities in Salobreña I see how the drinking fountain is kept running water and how loads of water are being wasted!!!
