BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

New coming threat for our teenagers: TEENAGE GAMBLING

Who hasn't heard among teenagers how well you feel when you are in one of these places where gambling is allowed? In summer it is so cool and in winter so warm, drinks are much cheaper than anywhere else, you can stay there as long as you like, a super atmosphere with all your gang... However, all this covers a new threat for our teenagers, I'm afraid!!!

And the problem is that you see sport stars and famous people advertising all this gambling on any TV channel and almost at any time!!!!

PERMAFROST: another victim of climate change

Every day you can learn something. For instance, the other day I learned about this motivational cartoon from our student in 4º ESO Susana, who used on the cover of her folder (great idea!!! Thanks!!!):

This is the right attitude to face challenges in life, especially at school.

But not long ago (actually, it was yesterday), I also learned about something from our Geography and History teacher Mr Jiménez: 'permafrost' and how climate change is affecting it. This could have disastrous consequences in certain regions in the world and could even be a threat to our lives.

Which holiday do you prefer?

  • Beijing is the capital city of the People's Republic of China. It is a large city in north-eastern China with over 21 million inhabitants. There are several UNESCO world heritage sites in Beijing, including the Forbidden City.

  • The Forbidden City was the home of China's Emperors for nearly 500 years until 1912. The large palace complex has over 900 buildings, and since 1925 it has been preserved as a museum. There are more than 14 million visitors to the museum every year.

  • Guillin is a city in the south of China. It is famous for its beautiful scenery, especially its river and the cone-shaped hills around the city.

  • Shanghai is a large city in the east of China at the estuary of the Yangtze River. Shanghai is one of the largest cities in the world, with a population of over 23 million people.

And talking about gorgeous places to visit in China. here's...

Visiting Peru

  • Peru >>  The Republic of Peru is a country in the west of South America with a population of over 30 million people, who are called Peruvians.

  • Lima is the capital city of  Peru, situated on the Pacific coast. Lima has many important colonial buildings and museums with pre-Columbian artefacts (objects created byu indigenous people prior to the arrival of Columbus).

  • Cuzco is an ancient Inca city in the south of Peru. It is famous for its archaelogical sites and is popular with tourists who often visit the ruins of Machu Picchu.

  • Altitude sickness is a common problem for visitors to Peru. It is often caused when people travel to places more than 2,500 m above the sea level. Symptoms of altitude sickness include dizziness, feeling sick and having difficulty breathing. It can be very serious, so tourists are advised to rest and get medical help.

You don't always have to work for the money ;-)))

... although your English teacher does it every day. Unfortunately, most students don't do things for free, or do they? Do you write a comment or a composition for free even if your English teacher is going to correct it for free?
