BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

DIGITAL ADDICTION, a REAL problem to solve

This is no longer a family and this is no longer a gathering of friends, and these are no longer work partners, either. A group of people may physically be at the same spot, but mentally they are so distant away.

It is a big disgrace for humankind as social interactions are so virtual. And why is all that? It could be due to a virus that affects these generations: DIGITAL ADDICTION!!! It spreads so fast worldwide chasing every mind that it is a real danger.

Some interesting articles for you to read, especially the one about the solution found by the Silicon Valley parents:

  3. nowadays the technology has advanced a lot with respect to the past.

Anyone and above all teenagers are thrown all day hooked to social networks or in front of a screen

If you use a lot of your cell phone or your computer all day long, it can cause problems like headaches, red eyes ...
It also takes time away from studying, doing homework.
There are people who do not go out with their friends because they are playing at the computer or playing mobile.

To solve these problems, I think that parents should remove the cell phone and when they finish doing homework or studying it, it will be a good option so teenagers have more time to study and do homework.

  4. Nowadays technology has advanced a lot. Today you can do almost everything with a mobile phone, from take photos to buy things. But if you abuse of technological devices, you can have problems like headaches or a drop in your school performance.

To avoid this, people who have jobs related to technology and technological devices are limiting the use of mobile phones to their children, for example, they don't have a mobile phone and they play videogames less than an hour each week.

In my opinion, mobile phones aren't harmful when you know when and how use them. I think mobile phones have to be used in your free time or when it is necessary, but not when you are working, studying or meeting with other people.

  6. Today technology has advanced a lot and with it the social networks.

People especially teenagers are hooked on social networks. They are all day watching the notifications, the states of their friends ..

Being so long looking at the phone is very bad, it can harm your eyes and stop you from having time to do homework or study. It can be so distressing that you may ignore your parents and become unfriendly. There may be times when you don't even sleep all night, and later you are tired at school and fall sleep.

People don't practise any sports either and do not go out with friends or if they go out they are in the networks uploading photos, talking, or any other thing.

I believe that parents have to take the mobile phone away from children and only let them use for one or two hours a day when they have finished doing their homework.

  7. Nowadays, technology is too present in our lives, and this can be a problema, but we can not forget it because it helps us so much in different aspects in our diary live. For exmaple, we can be comunicated with other people that live in another country or access to news quickly.

In our society, teenagers are the most addicted to technology, because of social networks, chatting and more else. But not only they, each day, more adults are also addicted to mobile phones, and this actions can produce less verbal comunication between family, so, this provocate family problems.

Be opposite of screens produces problems in our eyes, and we can be ill with headaches. Also, people become more passive, because they prefer staying at home with their technological devices than go out with friends or practise any sport.

Other problem relacionated is that people do not meet people and speak with others face to face so they become closed and shy so they lose friends.

Childrens can lose imagination too, because they start doing the most of things with technology so they do not put in practise different skills that they should develop.

I think that parents should ward off any mobile phones or tablets to their childrens up to they have more years and they know what they are doing, always with the most security possible.

  8. Nowadays, technologies have advanced a lot and are part of our everyday lives. Digital adicctions have become one of the most serious problems in our lives.

Most of the times, this problem affects teenagers, but, it can also affect adults. This can hurt your family and create a separation between them.

There are many hours that we spend in front of a screen, and it cannot only hurt yourself and it´s bad for your mind, but it can also cause family members to lose respect and trust in each other.

If you have a digital problem, try to disconnect for a while and spend more time with your family and friends. And you can also set time limits using a temer if you really need it.

  11. Nowadays technology is a very important part in the classrooms. Worldwide, approximately 19 billion pounds will be spent on educational technology by 2019.
But is it helping provide children with the skills they need for the jobs of the future or disconnecting them from the world around them?

A recent report says that could have a detrimental effect, since computers in the classrooms are causing a decrease in the results of science, math and reading tests.
Other people think that iPads produce a decrease in handwriting ability.
And others like Andrew Manches, thinks that with computers we can more easily develop the ability to think logically, the ability to communicate ideas at different levels because he believes that the most important skill for children today is to be flexible. He also says that technology can open new ways of learning and reinforce basic skills

On the one hand, there are schools that reject technology to focus on practical skills and cultivate creativity. like, the Waldorf School of the Silicon Valley Peninsula which informs that students acquire digital skills quickly and that many of their graduates continue their careers in the computer industry.
On the other hand, the goal of campaigns like the Every Child Wild initiative of Wildlife Trusts is to connect children with nature on a daily basis with touch screens, social networks and the use of computers.

I think that with technology we can learn more easily and prepare for the future. however, I also think that we should make proper use of them

  12. Today, technology is too present in our lives and it has advanced a lot. You can do everything with a computer, a tablet or a mobile phone from playing video games to buying things or taking photos. It is so good, but the problem comes when you abuse of the technology or when you give them a bad use, because you can have problems like insolation.
This people, who work in Silicon Valley, limit the use of the mobile phone or computer of their children because they know that it can produce a lot of illnesses, and they want that their children to use old ways of search information or to solve a problem.
In my opinion, mobile phones are so good it you don't give them a bad use and if you know when to stop using the mobile phone, but the kids don't know when stop using this technology because theirs brains aren't mature enough.

  14. A telephone is an effective means of communication, news and important events are broadcast in a matter of minutes and families are always in communication.
With the advantage of being able to take photos and videos you can verify the truth as in the case of abuse or robbery.
There have been cases of people being abducted or lost who could be rescued by means of their cell phone or phone records.
I am against it because it causes accidents and deaths in teenagers because it is a distraction at the wheel.
Sometimes malevolent photos and videos are spread to attack or harm.
It has been argued that the radiation they emit causes harm to health but although the motives may have their disadvantages as being a distraction at the wheel, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages and have now proven to be an important element in society. To avoid more accidents, the government and mobile companies should constantly launch campaigns to educate the public on the correct way to use them. In addition, the police have imposed severe fines against people who use them while driving; As a result many people avoid using them when driving which has shown that protecting the pocket is a powerful reason not to use them when driving.

  15. Tell me how many times you have got on a bus and you haven´t seen people looking at a digital screen . Surely never . Is technology an addiction ? Should we worry about ?

Of course , technology is nowadays everything that surrounds us , mobiles , televisions … On the one hand there are positive things about using technologies , and it is so important that children use them to adapt to our society today . If children didn´t use them , they probably wouldn´t have a good future bacause technologies are today our work .

On the other hand if these technologies are not used correctly , they can cause a big problem of addiction specially in children who use them a lot . In America mobiles are given by parents at the age of only ten years ! That is too soon . And for that reason children spend a lot of time in front of a digital screen instead of being concerned about their studies .

But not only children have an addiction to this , also parents and young people who are in front of a screen as their children .

From my point of view , technologies are necessary but always we have to be careful not only how long we use them but also how we use them .

  16. It´s a reality that nowadays everyone has a smartphone, and most of us do everything with it, talk to other people, study with it, cook with it, play with it or even sleep near it. Mobile phones have brought us a lot of facilities, but they have brought us bad things too.
If you just go out in the street, you will probably see that everyone is using their phones, even if they´re with friends or family. some of these people are probably mobile dependent, that means that they can´t live without a mobile phone. If you take her phone off, he won´t know what to do and he will feel strange. It is very bad, because using our phones, we're losing other things that are probably more important than using Facebook or playing a videogame. You can see people using their phones in concerts, parties or even after a baby is being born. I thinks it´s incredible, because these are important moments that will never happen again, you should stop using your mobile and enjoy them.
In my case, I think I´m a bit mobile dependent, because when I´m alone or bored I don´t know what to do without it, but when I´m with friends I try not to use it. In summary, I think think that we should organize better the time we spend with the phone and without it, because it is also bad for your health, you´re losing a very important time of your life.

  19. Nowadays, technology is very present in our lives and both children and adults use it a lot! But do you know that the overuse of it can cause digital addiction?

Although the use of both tech-gadgets and services has many positive impacts, the overuse of it has negative effects on people.

One the one hand, the addictive internet use has negative impacts on mental health. It can lead to psychiatric disorders like depression, bipolar disorders or attention deficit disorder. Moreover, symptoms of a digital addiction can include a short temper, apathy to your life and the lives of those around you and increased anxiety.

On the other hand, digital addiction is a serious problem nowadays among youth, because they can´t stay away from their mobile phones, social media or video games. Besides, they become really irritable and anxious if the internet connection is slow or if parents unplug their devices. Teenagers can develop sleep disorders, cardiovascular disease, weight gain and a decrease on their academic, athletic and social activities. The only advantage of using technology amoung young people is that they can improve their digital skills at school, blogging or doing projects.

To fix digital addiction, the first step is to be aware that there is a problem with our digital life. In addition to the symptoms listed above, ask yourself whether you feel like you can't be without your phone, or always need to have a screen pointed at your face. If so, there may be an issue.

To sum up, I think we should all be aware of the overuse of technology in order to avoid digital addiction. Technology has its advantages like searching information, doing projects, online shopping, etc...,but has disadvantages too, as we have seen above.

  20. In our society, technology is too present day by day and this has advantages and disadvantages.

Technology is good because it helps us in many things such as information and being able to learn new things, but the misuse of it and the abuse of it can harm us.

Mobile phones should be used only in free time, not when we are studying or when we are working because it slows down the work.

  21. Currently, technology is more and more present in our lives. Many teenagers and children already have their own mobile phone. Technology can have many advantages but it also has disadvantages.

On the one hand, technology is very good for us. It makes our lives easier. Besides, almost everybody is in touch with technology; not only in terms of mobile phones, TVs and tablets, but we also use technology in security alarms, gps and radios among other things. Nowadays our life wouldn’t be the same without technology.

On the other hand, technology has disadvantages as well. It is very common to see people addicted to substances such as tobacco or alcohol but... Does addiction to technology exist? Well, yes, it exists and especially it happens in young people. In addition, many times we don't realize it but we can spend hours and hours in front of a screen. Addiction to technology is a very serious issue and we should follow the example of the people who live in Silicon Valley. We all know that this is the center of technology but the children of those who live there are very far from technology, their parents are especially concerned about keeping them away from technology addictions.

To sum up, technology has many advantages but it can also be dangerous. In my opinion, we should use technology in a responsible way.
