The Olympic Winter Games are being held in 2014 Sochi.Esta city is situated between the snowy mountains of the Caucasus and the Black Sea in Russia, which has a population of 368,011 inhabitants in 2013. The city is one of the most important tourist attractions in Europe.
ResponderEliminarThis year 88 participating countries which are fighting for different medals. The inauguration was the 7th of February and finalized on 23 March. There are 7 sports and 15 disciplines where 84 medals were distributed.
This year, the Spanish team consists of 14 men and 6 women. I think this year we are likely to bring more of a medal because our athletes are well prepared.

There are eight countries that do not participate are Algeria, Colombia, North Korea, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Senegal and South Africa.

These Olympic Games will be held in two different areas: the area of the Olympic Park is in the city of Sochi on the shores of the Black sea and the mountain area, Krasnaya Polyana, located at the western end of the range of the Caucasus.

Sochi is in Russia. This year, 2014, the Olympic Winter Games are there. From 7th to 23rd February. There are a lots of sport, ski, hockey, skating, snowboard... Now Spain haven´t any medals. The Spain team hardly ever win some medals there, because here those sports don´t practise so much. The other day I saw in the news, one Russian girl, with only fifteen years old was given perfectly figure skating.

Now there is a spanish called Javier Fernández to skate there, but the other day in the news I saw that Javier didn't win any medals. But he is the European champions.

The Winter Olympic Games are a multi-sport event held every four years under the supervision and administration of the International Olympic Committee. Winter sports includes both ice and snow. Cross-country skiing, speed skating, figure skating, ice hockey, bobsleigh, Nordic combined and ski jumping has been part the Olympic program since the first edition. Other sports such as luge, speed skating short track, curling or freestyle skiing have been incorporated while some others like bandy exhibition sports are but definitely have never been included in the Games. The I Olympic Winter Games were held in the French town of Chamonix in 1924, although previously the figure skating and ice hockey had been part of the Summer Games. Since 1924 the Games were held at intervals of four years until the 1940 could not be held because of the Second World War. The Winter Olympics in St. Moritz were restored in 1948. The Games are held every four years continued to coincide with the Summer Games to editing Albertville in 1992 when the IOC decided that the Summer and Winter Games would be held in different years. From Lillehammer 1994 edition of the Summer Games and Winter are held two years apart.

ResponderEliminarSochi is a city of Russia, located on the Black sea coast near the border between Georgia and Rusia. It was born in 1896. It has become a popular touristic city since the beginning of the 20th Century. Stalin lived there for a few years.
ResponderEliminarThe Olympic Games of Sochi 2014, which are the XXII Olimpic Winter Games in the history, will be on 7th February, and they will finish on 23rd of february. There will be 98 events in 15 winter sport disciplines and the main sports would be skating, skiing and snowboarding (like in other Olympic Winter Games). The mascot will be a polar bear.
In my opinion it is a great opportunity for Spanish people and it's going to be exciting, but there have been a lot of revolts this year so people have to be careful.
