Which one do you prefer - solos or duets? Obviously, I like both, but here's one of my favourite duets:
Let's make a hit parade of your favourite duets, so send them to me.
By the way, do you know why gibbons sing duets? (Listening exercise from the BBC Learning English) + Articles to read about the issue: 1 2

Well, I really like solos but I prefer duets because in them, you can hear different voices. I really like solos too, for example I like the song Skyfall which is played by the singer Adele. Another song that I like is 'Show Must Go On' of Freddie Mercury. I think it's the best solo song that is in the world. I play the saxophone and I prefer to play alone because it's easier but play if I play the saxophone in duo with piano or any other instrument is very beautiful, although it can be more complicated.
ResponderEliminarOne of the most famous duets in the history is the duet of Albano and Romina, an Italian couple who had a big hit with the song "Felicita".(https://youtu.be/bYBRn4X6AZE). Another of my favorite duets is the duet of Aretha Franklin and Michael McDonald with the song "Ever Changing Times".(https://youtu.be/RiiKG28_LT4). To finish, one of my favorite duets and for me, the best duet that have seen, is the duet of Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson with the fantastic song "State of Shock". ResponderEliminarI like them both, but if I have to choose, I would choose the duets. The duets are more complex and if artists do well, many more feelings are transmitted than when only person sings, yet there are some solos whose singers convey really wonderful messages . My choice changes as well as artists do, because I heard the same song sung in a duet and solo and there is a big difference, sometimes for better and sometimes the difference is bad. But even so I think the combination of two or more artists for the creation of a song is something that is better because two brains think more than one (sometimes not), it is the combination of two talents and that often attracts the attention of fans of the artists because if one does well with another artist and he does it as that artist, it can be something incredible.
ResponderEliminarFor me one of the best duets was that by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John with the song Summer Nights but one of my favorites is the Eminem and Rihanna duet with the song Love the way you lie. In the history of music there are great duets such as Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury or Frank and Nancy Sinatra. It would be very hard to pick the best of all because all have great duets that were big hits and today still are.
One of the solos I like the music of the past century is the artist with the song Whitney Houston I Will Always Love You, although there are also artists such as Bob Marley, John Lennon, Tina Turner and Bonnie Tyler with great songs and are a success and are no less than many good duets. And as we have so many songs to choose one, I could not tell which is my favorite, it would be very dificult to choose. There are so many!!
