BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

  1. It's amazing to see what the humans do with some roots! In the video we can see a man who teaches a child how make the living bridge, for when he's older he can use it, and his children and children's children can use them too.The living bridge will grow for 500. Is a problem for crossing the river, but when it's the summer monsoon is worse, because the flow of the river grows.

For them is very important the living bridge, because they need to cross the river for go to work, go to looking for food to eat, for some children go to school, for communicate the village with other villages. What is the solution? The solution is the living bridge of course, it's natural for that, doesn't pollute the environment.

  2. Living in India is difficult. People there work hard. When I have seen the video and I've hallucinated a lot. It's amazing to see how they make living bridges. In the video we can watch an old man teaching a child how to make them. The old man tells her that the living bridge will grow for five hundred years, for their children can use it, and children's children can use it, too.

Living bridges help Indian people to cross rivers, it facilitates the long travells they have to do, help children to go to school, so a living bridge is a solution for all these problems, and it doesn't pollute the environment.
In the video we can watch Africa's beautiful countryside like how to flow the river. We can also watch big mountains, trees and wonderful cataracts.

  3. Living bridges
I liked the video about the living trees. It´s a lovely idea that a bridge can be made out of real live roots. In north east India in a region called Meghalaya, a kingdom high up in the mountains, the people make living bridges. People have lived here since the Neolithic era and they have a culture which looks far ahead into the future.

They start to make these living bridges out of trees such as strangler figs in order to cross torrential streams; these bridges will be finished many generations later. They teach their children, who in turn teach their children and so it goes on for generation after generation, until finally the roots of the tree have been cultivated into a solid bridge.

I love this solution to the problem of crossing streams or rivers. It is a natural, ecologically sustainable and long term answer. We need more answers like this .

  8. It is incredible to see how people cross over the bridge that they have grown.

In the State of Meghalaya, bridges aren't built, they are planted. Cherrapunji is a village in the Indian State of Meghalaya, situated on the northeast of China. This town is known to be the most humid place on our planet.

They planted a rubber tree, for that reason, bridges will be formed in the future.
The oldest bridges were planted 500 years ago.

That situation reminds me the of the film Avatar; a village that lives in harmony with nature.

  9. It´s incredible to see how people make this things with little means.

This bridges are a process in the humanity because the people don´t pollute the world and they spend more means.

It´s a simple form because you planted a rubber tree and within a few years have a bridge, but more exciting is the oldest bridges were planted 500 years ago and it´s a long time.

I think in the future planted a rubber tree and I'll have my bridge.

  11. The living root bridges of Meghalaya are a form of tree shaping, which creates these suspension bridges, they are handmade from the aerial roots of living banyan fig trees.

These bridges can take 15 to 20 years for the surreal, strong web of tangled root bridges to connect the two banks of a river. Unlike traditional constructions, Meghalaya’s root bridges only grow stronger with time, never requiring major maintenance or rebuilding; the strongest root bridges are more than 100 years old. In the past 25 years, however, the practice of building these living bridges has been dying out. Rather than spend years creating living paths, builders today use steel rope and modern construction methods to bridge Meghalaya’s streams and rivers.

I think these bridges are good for the person who live there, because with the help of the nature they can cross the river without danger or go to a place where they can’t go without the help of these trees.
