CONGRATULATIONS to our students at the IES Mediterráneo (Salobreña) for their good results in their B1 and B2 exams at the Official Language School: Ana Muñoz (2º Bachillerato) has passed her B2 exams and these students in 1º 
Bachillerato have passed their B1 exams at the Official Language School: Nuria Díaz, Lucía Espinosa, Susana Pérez. As you can see, taking into account all those who passed a month ago ( Can flowers make bees smile? ), we have a total of 11 students in the level of 1º Bachilleratoand 9 students in 2º Bachillerato that have already got their B1 and so have 8 students in 2º Bachillerato, four of whom have also got their B2.
And latest wonderful news: Sofía has just got her C1 (Cambridge)!!!!
However, that does not mean we are at the end of the road. This is just the beginning of a road: THE ROAD TO SUCCESS!!! as we have many other goals ahead: having the best of marks both at school ( English in a Minute: 'At school' or 'At the school' (BBC Learning English) ) and in Selectivity, and getting their B2 (especially those students in 1º Bachillerato) next June. That's the way our great Rafa Nadal faces life so as to get such incredible results in life.

The presidency of Donald Trump had to end because the United States is in terrible condition and he did not care. I can be happy with my results in the EOI, because although it may not seem like it, I am a girl who finds it difficult to achieve good results. And that is why I am very happy to have achieved the B1.

This summer I decided to prepare my English b1 on my own. An academy went from Monday to Thursday for an hour and a half during the morning. After many hours of study and a lot of effort, in September I took the first exam, in which I got a 6.2, so I failed by three tenths. I went back to preparing to raise my grade in the mediation, writing and speaking part, when the day of the exam came I was afraid that I would fail again and would have to do all the parts again. After a few weeks they gave me the grade, I got a 7.2 and I was very happy for having achieved my purpose.
ResponderEliminarIt is my first external test, here I have realized how the situation can change by only a few tenths, so now I am trying harder and I am more motivated to graduate. This has made me realize that we have to work harder since in this type of tests such as b1 or selectivity our teachers are not there to help us get the grade we need if we do not get it.

ResponderEliminarMillions and millions of people have been following closely the last American elections, due to the great impact this country has in the rest of the world. Finally, last 7th November, Joe Biden was announced winner, as it had been predicted in the polls.
ResponderEliminarHowever, even though Joe Biden has become the president with more votes in history (81.283.485), Donald trump didn't get very far behind, as he was supported by 74.223.744 voters. This fact has made Donald Trump argue that the elections have been manipulated and he hasn't accepted his defeat yet. Many of his supporters had gone out to the streets claiming fakeness and fraud. Therefore, there has been a recount and the result did change, but in favour of Biden.
Joe Biden will be installed in the White House next 20th January, and I truly hope that by that time things will have got calmer and that problems will have stopped. I expect him to be a better president than Trump, because at least, he is willing to take action against Covid-19 by always taking into account the scientists' opinions, unlike Trump ,who advised the citizens to drink bleach.
All in all, we don't know anything yet. Biden will have to prove to be a better president by fixing the country and doing what he has promised. And it is time for Trump to give up.

ResponderEliminarAs we all know, the winner of the elections on November 7 was won by Joe Biden, although Donald Trump was not far behind since he also got a very high percentage of votes. The loss of the White House by Donald Trump made him say that the process of counting the votes was rigged and that everything was false.
On the other hand, this fact made Trump's voters take to the streets in the form of protecta and wanted the vote to be carried out again, but this in the end remained the same and with Biden as the winner.
Biden will be installed in the White House on January 20 and his term will last 4 years until new votes are taken.
Finally, we have to highlight the evil of losing that Trump has, since he did not want to admit his defeat from the first moment. Biden for his part must show that he is a better president and person than Donald Trump, since he has involved a lot of controversy during his term.
Nowadays languages are very important, since when trying to get a job or try to enter a career that gives you more points and you can place yourself ahead of many people who do not have languages or who have them lower than you.

But today we all know that in order to enter a career and get a good grade and to find a good job you need languages and the more the better. The language that most people present or use is English since it is the most used, but we also find people who prefer French or another.
In some cases we find people who have two or more languages, not only do they have B1, which is basic and should have all the people, but there are people who have B2 and even C1, so with that level they will be much easier to find a better job than others. It is true that like these people, after obtaining so many degrees, they will start working later, but later they will live better than the others who have hardly anything.
To finish, I advise all people and I even include myself that in order to find the job that I like, you have to study a lot and especially have languages since nowadays languages are one of the most important things and although it takes longer to start to work than others, it is worth it and later you will find the rewards.

This year, I´m in 1ºBach. I have only 2 years left at IES Mediterraneo, and then, I´ll go to the university. I´m really excited and, at the same time, scared. The 4 years before, I didn´t worry too much about my future, but now that "the future" is getting closer, I´m thinking more about it. These two years are essential, so I´ll have to work a lot.
ResponderEliminarThis first year of Bachillerato, I´ll try to study a lot, so I can end the school year with really good marks. This year is really important, because you have to had the best basis posible for next year, so you can understand things better and be less stressed. I have already got the B1 level of English, and this year, I´ll try to get the B2 of the same language.
In 2ºBach, I know the thing will get harder, so I´ll have to work a lot. I´ll have to study a lot if I want to get a good mark in Selectivity, so I can enter the university studies I want. I know that it will be a hard year, but I´ll do my best!
In summary, the way to success is the hard one, but if you make an effort, it will be rewarded. Stay focused and you´ll reach success!

The importance of English in our today's world is clear. We all know that the better you can speak english the more opportunities you can have, this is so, not only in the school field but also in the search for a job. Because of that, it is of paramount importance to do your best and to try to reach a good enough level of English to try to get a certification.
ResponderEliminarOn the one hand, if you obtain a certification it means that you can manage in English. This is highly useful for school, as we have a subject destined for it. So, if you have a good level of English this subject will be a bit easier for you, therefore you will be able to focus on the other subjects that aren't exactly your main strong point, like maths ,chemistry or greek, for instance.
On the other hand, it enhances your chances in your work life. Firstly, at university if you are willing to do an Erasmus and you master some languages, you will position yourself at the head of the list, even if your marks aren't as brilliant as others'. Secondly, you might be called for more job interviews, as employers value a lot the language skills.
If you want to work at a young age it will be tough to find a job but having certifications of languages will bust your chances.
To conclude, I would say that, as far as I'm concerned you should get a certification as soon as possible. But first you have to meditate what do you want if for, and read carefully if they have an expiration date, because if they do, they may not be useful when you need them the most.
Rafa Nadal is one of the best tennis players in the world. He has played since 2002, when he was only 16 years old. When he started when he started playing tennis he began to stand out above all those of his age and had to move to Barcelona to continue his tennis career. Rafa Nadal has more than 10 titles as a tennis player, and in my opinion he is the best tennis player in history, and Spanish.

This year I am going to pass to 2º BACH. This is already the last year in the Ies Mediterraneo, and when I finish 2º BACH and do a selectivity I will go to university. I am very scared since a very hard course since I stake my future. Year of 1º BACH and the next one are the most important since the grade of those two years and the one of the selectivity decide our future
ResponderEliminarThis first year of Bach I have made a lot of effort and I have worked from the first day of the course to get good grades at the end of the course. This year is also very important, I will start from the first day to organize myself since it is a very hard year. I have to study hard if I want to get a good grade in Selectividad, to be able to enter the university studies that I want. This year we finished at the end of May but in June we have the PEVAU. The first days of June will be to review everything we have given during the course.
Last year in September I went to the language school for the B1 of English but I did not pass by little and in the recovery in October I got it. After all the summer of preparing it I got it. All your effort has its reward.
Next summer I am going to try to prepare myself for the b2 of English although I also want to present myself for the car license. I am going to try to get both things out of me.
In short, all an effort has a reward. If you make an effort, you will achieve it.
