BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Slow, but where's the point in hurrying?

People may think I'm a slow learner, perhaps the world is going too fast, so where's the point in worrying if I get to my destination in time or I achieve my goals? However, what is the point in living a pointless life? A life without goals to achieve?

Listen to the song below and then: first, fill in the gaps in the first verse and, secondly, how would you translate the expression: "where's the point in + Verb in the -ing form"?

"Slow Learner"

People say '_______  _______  ________  __________?'
Or '________  ___________  ____________  _____________?'
I'm a slow learner
________  ___________  ____________  _____________
It's my way, has to be true
The world ________  ___________  ____________  _____________
But where you're concerned
________  ___________  ____________  _____________ to last
Where's the point in worrying
If we should start a little late
Where's the point in hurrying
When waiting feels so great?
I'm a slow burner
________  ___________  ____________  _____________ a while ago
I'm a slow learner
I do everything slow

Never give up!!!

No matter how hard the situation you are facing is, you should never give up. Try to do your best and at the end of the day, even if you don't get your goal or sort out the difficulties, at least you will be proud of yourself.

In a society and at a time where there's only place for success, you must also be ready for failures and be ready to overcome them or any other obstacles. That's what makes us stronger. We are succeeding in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic and we are far stronger now than two years ago.

Here's my musical hint for today and that's what Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush advise us to do: Don't give up  and here's a version with the lyrics for you to sing along..

A cop to sort out climate change matters?

Yes, we need the COP26 in Glasgow!!!

Remember that the word 'cop' is a colloguial way to refer to a police officer in the United States. Can you remember the film ROBOCOP (short video to remind you)?

Actually, in this case COP26 stands for Conference Of Parties dealing the issue of climate change in our planet and it is the 26th time they meet.

Three terms to unlock COP26 (BBC Learning English): net zero emissions, circular economy and 1.5 degrees + renewables, reduce emissions, change our diets, the clock is ticking.

Here some articles for you to read about this matter:
