BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Slow, but where's the point in hurrying?

People may think I'm a slow learner, perhaps the world is going too fast, so where's the point in worrying if I get to my destination in time or I achieve my goals? However, what is the point in living a pointless life? A life without goals to achieve?

Listen to the song below and then: first, fill in the gaps in the first verse and, secondly, how would you translate the expression: "where's the point in + Verb in the -ing form"?

"Slow Learner"

People say '_______  _______  ________  __________?'
Or '________  ___________  ____________  _____________?'
I'm a slow learner
________  ___________  ____________  _____________
It's my way, has to be true
The world ________  ___________  ____________  _____________
But where you're concerned
________  ___________  ____________  _____________ to last
Where's the point in worrying
If we should start a little late
Where's the point in hurrying
When waiting feels so great?
I'm a slow burner
________  ___________  ____________  _____________ a while ago
I'm a slow learner
I do everything slow

  1. I don't think the biggest problem is being in a hurry learning, I'm more worried being in a hurry to live. Today are lots of person who are in a hurry to grow up, when we are little we are anxious to be teenagers and go out with our friends, when we are teenager we are waiting to have eighteen and can do what we want, the people that has eighteen only want to finish the career and have a work, the people that has a work they are wishing to retire, and the people who are retired are the ones who tell you not to be in a hurry to live.

Nearly all of us are waiting for the weekend, in the weekend we think on Christmas, when Christmas ends we think in Easter and when Easter ends we only think in summer, without us realizing we are living the live waiting something and we forget living the moment, thats the reason lots of people don't enjoy good moments, and it's sad, because when we realize it will be too later and the only thing that we could do will be advise people younger than us.

For this reason nobody appreciate the little moments that really should make us happy, and we get angry without reasons, we spend hours without talking with nobody and we don't know why, we lose our time being angry and sad when nothing happens to us when we should be happy to are where we are and this will make up for the days that we really have to be sad or angry because something happens to us.

People of nowadays don't know how to see the good side of the things, and it's sad that you don't not realize until you see a person who has reasons to be sad and it's too much happier than you.

  2. Since Friday I only hear about the new variant of COVID which has been named Omicron. In any news program right now, they only talk about that new variant.
From what I have heard, it´s a very worrying variant because it has up to thirty two mutations and has a high risk of reinfection, I don´t really know what that means but it sounds like it´s very dangerous. And it must be because the variant was announced on Friday and on Saturday it was no longer possible to fly from southern Africa countries to the European Union, The United Kingdom and the United States. Because now COVID is at maximum in the countries of the European Union.
We thought that everything was improving because we were vaccinated but it seems that this will not end for years.

  3. For two years the world are living in a global pandemic that has changed our lives.

The coronavirus was born un china .There are many things that people believe where the virus comes from but it is not really known what it is, some say that it is to eat bats, and others say that it has come out of a laboratory. All of people were and are very scared but know less. In this 2 years there were a lot of variants , now we have a new variant and people say it is very strong and dangerous.

In these two years we have had to protect ourselves from the covid, and now it is much more important.

  4. Each one learns something at their own pace and because one takes longer than another to understand it doesn´t mean that you are dumber or that you are a worse student. I think it is something that we should all be taught from a young age, because many of us get very overwhelmed when we see our classmates understand something and that it seems easy to them, but for me, for example, it may be very difficult to understand it and it seems very difficult.

From my point of view, having a goal in life and fighting for it is important and gives our life a meaning in a certain way. Although this doesn´t mean that we should obsess over this and only think about the moment in which this happens, because we must appreciate every moment of our life and live it to the fullest because then we will regret not having done this or that.

There are also people who don´t have a clear objective, because they believe that it isn´t necessary, or that they find theirs after the rest, I believe that both things are equally valid because we each have a different perspective on life and that is why not we must be pressured for this.

  5. For as long as we can remember, we have been wishing we were older to do this or that. When you are a child, you want to be older so that you can go out with your friends on the street. When we are teenagers, we want to be of legal age, so that we can be more independent. Or so we think.

When we are older, we realize that most of our lives are spent waiting, waiting to grow up, waiting for the weekend, waiting for vacations, waiting to finish school ...

This really does not make sense, we do not get to appreciate in detail those moments in which we wait. These make us born to die without actually living the period between these two happily.

To sum up, we focus on the future without living in the present. But we must learn more slowly and enjoy the moment. Don't forget, Carpe Diem.

  6. Nowadays, people live so quickly. We want to do and have things immediately and we aren’t able to wait. We focus in the future, but what is the future really?

Everyone has objectives in life, but we don’t enjoy the process. We only think about the satisfaction of achieving the objectives. We should think about the expression: carpe diem.

We should enjoy the little moments and the things that happen at the present. Because I think that this is the meaning of life. In addition, we are angry when we don’t do the things like we want, but we should be more positive.

I would say: live slowly, feel more before it’s too late. Our problem is that we are too impatient.

  7. We have been stuck in a global pandemic for two years, which has affected so much that it has caused thousands of deaths from the disease.
Every day when you put the news, you hear new things about the world crisis, some media say that there are new variants, and other media say that the code is going down.
From what I have learned, in Salobreña there are fewer cases, but we continue with the virus, and it seems that this is not going to end.
New day, and new concerns about Covid, epro we must not give up and if we all do our part of this we can leave without any risk.

  10. Today our society is based on hurrying up. We are supposed to study, without failing or repeating a school year, search a job, get married and have kids at a certain age. For example, many people consider a 40-year-old woman too old to have kids or get married. At 45 years you are supposed to have a permanent job and at 65 years old you have to be retired.

In addition, kids want to be teenagers to be older, teenagers want to be adults to have freedom and money, adults want to retire to have free time, and elderly people just want to be like the teenagers they used to be to be as healthy and strong as the ones they see.

In fact, we are always hurrying up and we don't stop to enjoy the moment we are living, and when we don't enjoy our life, time passes before we notice it, and when we want to notice it, we will be retired and we won't have enjoyed our life.

Summing up, it's good to hurry up sometimes because it makes us able to reach all our goals in our life, but we have to enjoy our life, and not to focus on reaching goals.

  11. Today's society is in a hurry to live, and to do what we cannot or the time has not yet come to do it, like the saying that we want what we do not have, this is a clear example of what happens to it. society. What people should do is be in a hurry to learn new things, not to live. Because of this, things are not valued at the moment.

When we are little we really want to be older, be in high school, have more "freedom", by the time we get to high school we want to go to study abroad, when we are in the race or a module we want to work and be independent . The problem that many people have who are not 18 years old is that if we want to have them now, but just as we are 18 years old for some things we also have them for others, because when you start working or studying, you have another series of more important responsibilities like having a family, working to pay for things, taking care of children ... and many people today do not want to have those responsibilities since they prefer to live in their parents' house without having any responsibility.

What people should do is enjoy the moment and not be in a hurry to have things that we do not have or it is not the moment, because that way we do not enjoy anything and then we regret it, and we realize all the time we have had to enjoy and we have wasted it. Time is money and cannot be lost, you have to make the most of it. If we think about things in the future we get overwhelmed, we get angry, we get sad ...

I think that what everyone should do is enjoy what they have at all times, fight for what they want and not waste time complaining or thinking what is going to happen. Everything in the end comes sooner or later. Let's not be in such a hurry and enjoy everything beautiful in our lives, so that later we will not regret it.

  12. Since 2019, the world has been facing an outbreak of a new infectious disease known as Coronavirus disease or COVID-19, that has rapidly spread globally and has now been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Now that Christmas is arriving, we must be more careful and use masks to protect ourselves.

To avoid hurting our family or friends we can take certain measures like avoid being in closed spaces with too many people and to wear masks at all time, especially if we are in crowded close spaces or when we are too close to people. Only this way we can protect ourselves and the people who are surrounding us. Despite COVID, we can also have fun in our Christmas holidays but taking certain measures and being careful in some situations.

Nowadays, Coronavirus disease is evolving and a new variant has appeared. I´m not one hundred percent sure, but I suppose that this new variant is due to lack of vaccination in disadvantaged countries like Africa. For instance, here in our country, people had been vaccinated twice or even a third time! How is it possible that in the most needed countries, almost anybody had been vaccinated and in others some people have even been vaccinated for the third time. I think that this is an error and if we don´t start vaccinating, new variants will continue appearing.

To sum up, this holiday we are going to have fun, but we must be careful with our actions and take care of the eldest people on our family. Only this way we could enjoy our best Christmas staying safe and having fun.

  15. I think that one of the most important things in life is to achieve the goals that you set for yourself. It doesn´t matter if it takes more or less time, the main purpose is to achieve your goal. We often propose things to ourselves, but especially at Christmas, with New Year's resolutions.

We normally think about the things that we would like to improve or start doing and we plan to do them during the year. Sometimes, they are typical goals like giving up smoking, improving our marks, going to the gym... But sometimes, we set ourselves more specific goals that take longer to achieve.

From my point of view, we should all have goals to reach, because otherwise, we would be living a pointless life. It doesn´t matter if they are small things, like small changes to improve something. All the big changes start with smaller ones...

I also think that there isn´t greater satisfaction than reaching your goal. The feeling that you have when you have achieved it is one of the best in the world. Perhaps, it isn´t as important to have New Year's resolutions as resolutions during the whole year. Whenever there is something that you aren´t doing well, try to improve it and keep going until you do it!

  17. All people are different, we have different thoughts, we look different, etc. That is why each person takes more or less to achieve their goals although the goals are the same, because each person has a different rhythm and that doesn't mean that you are better or worse.

What is the point in living a pointless life and a life without goals to achieve? There are many people that are living a pointless life, which makes me sad. I think living a pointless life is no use and it only provides you bad things. And a life without goals to achieve seems very boring to me, because you are going to do the same everyday. If I had a pointless life, I would prefer to die.

Today, in my opinion we can't make plans for a distant day because things change a lot day by day because COVID-19. However I don´t think for that we have to stop dreaming, because without dreams, life doesn't have sense, I guess. Because one of the best moments in the life is the feeling of when you achieve your goals, you feel satisfied with yourself.

All in all, the goals and the dreams that you want to reach should be done little by little and good, because the faster you go you are not going to reach it, if you don't do it well. So, I think that the important thing is not how much time it takes to reach your dreams, the important thing is that you achieve it.

  18. Many people give up before their time, this is a reality many people do not understand that we are not all equally fast in some things or others and this is a very bad thing because it causes disappointment and frustration.

Yes, not all people are equally fast at doing certain things, but this does not mean that they do them badly or worse than others, this is something that happens to many people and that causes them to give up before reaching their goal. objective.

This is a very bad thing since for some people it creates insecurities and they believe that they are worse than others in many things when in reality what happens is that they need more time and perseverance, only then will they achieve their goals.

It is necessary to live a life full of objectives and always have things to do because if this does not cause that your life has no meaning and you fall into depression, life is full of challenges and understanding this is one of them, the human being always has the need to achieve objectives and meet them to improve.

I think that people want to spend the time faster to get their goals soon.

When you are a child, you are looking forward to growing up to arrive at Bachillerato etc. Now, I’m in Bachillerato and it isn’t as I expected.
This year, I have to get good marks, and in many occasions I can’t go out with my friends.

In my opinion, If I had been a child again I would have made the most of my time but now
    I can’t do anything .
When I finish bachillerato, I'm going to Granada to study and I'll meet a lot of people. I think that Granada will be the best stage of my life.

Finally, I think people have to be patient so that they can achieve their goals because If they aren’t patient, they won’t achieve them.

It provokes sea level rise, heat waves, increased storms, drought, endangered species…
The loss of glaciers, snow, and ice through melting causes sea levels to rise, which can have visible consequences, like rising water and the disappearance of some coastal areas. Salobreña is a coastal areas so it can disappear if we don’t care the planet. Also, the climate change provocates heat waves that cause temperatures to rise more and more, and climates to change, causing droughts and increasing the risk of fires that provocate the deforestation.

For that reason, we have to care the planet. We must use public transports, don´t through rubbish, recycle, use renewable energy…

  22. Life is very short and when you want to realize it, it's already too late and you can't go back to enjoy the lost time. We live in a hurry to grow up and to be older, but when we are we realize how happy we were when we were little. Every time you grow up we have more responsibilities and everything becomes more difficult.

We want to live things ahead of time, and I think that everything has to be done when it's your turn and not before. For example, there are children who start smoking when they are 10 years old or even younger just to do what everyone else does, and they do not realize the consequences that they will have in their future.

I think that each age has its good things and you should not get ahead of yourself. Whenever I talk to an older person, they tell me anecdotes from when they were young and it shows on their face how happy they are remembering it. So if we are enjoying ourselves so much why do we want to grow so fast?

For example, the students are waiting for the holidays to arrive and the workers want Sunday to arrive to rest, but we should try to be happy every day and enjoy as much as possible.
