BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

The hottest days ever recorded

The hottest days, weeks... ever recorded in Britain, Spain... and we don't really know how far this can go and how long this situation can last!!!

News Review: Hottest week ever  (BBC Learning English)

We've gone through a pandemic, the toughest time we've had so far in our lives, similar to the war in Ukraine. Our students in 1º ESO have had the toughest year in their careers as it was the first year at the secondary level.

Heatwaves, droughts, not enough water to drink....

Tuesday was world’s hottest day on record – breaking Monday’s record (The Guardian)

Climate change: World's hottest day since records began (BBC News)

DAY SIX

SUMMER REVISION  >>  Activities for my students in 1º ESO:

  • Listen to the song and check the lyrics for superlatives. Can you tell me the two adjectives in the superlative form you see? Now you can do these exercises to make a revision:    1   2   3   4

  • Let's revise the difference between the PRESENT SIMPLE & the PRESENT CONTINUOUS watching these two New That's English episodes:

  • Finally do the following exercise...

Write sentences with the words below in the PRESENT SIMPLE or the PRESENT CONTINUOUS (Circle the key word(s) ).

    1. Betty and Paul / not eat / lunch / at school / on Fridays / . _____________

  4. CLIMATE CHANGE

The climate change is something that is destroying our world. There are a lot of things that produce climate change, like the car's smoke. This thing destroy the ozone's cap. Some people throw his plastics to the ocean and a simple plastic can kill an animal. There are many people eliminating the dirt of the oceans and the forests. We can fix it doing many things that don't produces contamination, like using public transport or throw the rust to the bin. How often do you use public transport?
