BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Is important to spend time with someonone like you, because at work you'll need it.
Also I prefer public schools than private schools. I think public schools teachers are more qualified because they have had to pass a opposion to work, while private school teachers have been chosen by the owners of the schools. For me, people shouldn't pay to learn because learning is free and the important is that student wants to learn. The only thing of private schools that I like is that the students wear uniforms. So there is no difference between the purchasing power of each family, because there are no marks or distinctions.

I think the state schools are like the public schools, because the subjects are like in all the schools and students learn the same information. But students of state schools have to pay more money and so they think they are better.

  6. I prefer public schools, as one of the few differences they have with private schools is the uniform, which I hate. Homeschooling is used to have the young stars celebrities who don´t have time to go to school or rich people who can afford it, as it must be so expensive.
I also think that for a teenager or a child is more interesting to go to a center to interact with people with the same age and also interact with kids of the opposite sex. I say this because there are private schools where boys and girls are divided into the classrooms and I think this is silly because sometimes you feel better with someone of the opposite sex.

  11. In my opinion, I think that public schools are much better than private schools. One reason is that in public schools you don´t have to pay anything for studying there, you only have to pay for yor school material, for example, pencils, rubbers, books or notebooks. However, in private schools you have to pay a lot of money every month only for studying there, and also you have to buy very expensive school uniforms. What a madness!. Another reason is that in some private schools children pass because their parents pay for it, however this doesn't happen in public schools.

Children who have been educated by home schooling maybe aren't used to be with other children, but, if they have good educators, they will probably have got better knowledge, as they have got their own speed of work. However, we can't forget that it's neccesary children played and grew up surrounded by more children, so I think they will be happier if they go to a public school.

  18. The words 'state education' and 'public education' are sometimes a bit confusing, mostly because they use different terms outside the UK. In the United States a 'public school' means a school provided by the government, in England this is called a 'state school'. Fee paying schools are called 'private schools' in the States but in England they are often called 'public schools'. This sounds like a contradiction in terms but there is a reason how this came about. Charity schools were established to educate poor children and they were called 'public schools' to show that they were open to everyone, no matter what class or religious background they came from. These developed into private paying schools when the state set up schools for all children.

There are many public schools in England and some of them have high profiles such as Eton, Rugby and Shrewsbury. They have excellent academic records and many famous people were educated in them. This may be why their fees are also high! Public schools take boarders which are pupils who live and eat at the school, but they also take day pupils, who live close by and only come in for the day. There is a strong ethos in these schools and they foment competition, loyalty to the school and a caring atmosphere. Many of their pupils spend most of their lives living and studying there, and they develop a strong attachment to the school and its community. Public schools are usually structured in a 'house system'. Boarders belong to a house and even the day pupils are attached to a particular house and the schools encourage a strong competitive spirit between the houses both in class work, debates and sports. Pupils from eleven to eighteen will belong to a particular house and the older pupils will have care of the younger ones, this encourages a caring attitude amongst the students.

I attended a public school for 8 years following the British curriculum. It was small but it still had some of the ethos of British public schools. The discipline was strong and there was a lot of inter-house competition. We were also expected to look after the younger pupils at certain times. I'm currently in a Spanish state school and have been attending it for about one and a half years. In some ways it has been difficult for me; the discipline is not a strong as in my previous school and sometimes it's difficult to work. There is little feeling of belonging, and you don't get a chance to get to know pupils from other years. You can feel quite isolated in your own particular class because there is no inter-class collaboration.

I hope I get used to Spanish school; eight years is a long time specially in my developing years as a child. The two systems have their advantages and disadvantages and l feel privileged to have been part of both of them.

In our country you can work when you are 16 years old and it is banned when you are younger than 16 years old. Although there are advantages and disadvantages if you study in a state or public school.

On the one hand, students who study in public schools usually have to wear uniforms and children are controlled more than in state schools. Futhermore, in a public school you must pay if you want to enter, so not all the students can study at them, Teachers are selected by the director of the school, not by a neutral organization.

On the other hand, all students can study there, so there are bad and good students. However, you don't have to have a uniform and to enter in it. Moreover, teachers are selected by a neutral organizacion and this is better to learn more,

  28. Home schooling or education at home, was born in USA in the 70s. This trend means taking responsibility for the education of children, both in terms of acquiring knowledge and skills, such as the transmission of values and principles, while none of these functions in educational institutions.

At the beginning of the 90, only 40 families in Spain had opted for this alternative. However, in the last two decades, this movement has grown considerably.

In the Spanish Constitution states that “basic education is compulsory and free.”
This option is chosen, for example, by a bad experience to start small schooling, religious or ideological.

A boarding school is a school where some or all students not only study, they also live there during the school term.

The public school is a public service for all regardless of class, gender, nationality or race and leads to ensure maximum economic level and is free.

People say that studying in a private school is easier than in a public one. However, I cannot have a strong opinion about this because I haven't studied in a private school.

  29. The popularity of home schooling is increasing. In many countries such as United States, Great Britain and Northern European countries home schooling is well established and in many other countries parents are becoming disillusioned with the state education that is provided.

One of the main reasons why parents chose to home school their children because of their religious beliefs. A staggering 84% of people worldwide claim to have a faith and a religious affiliation. They’ve become disenchanted that the state education system in their country does not reflect their beliefs and in some cases are even anti-faith.

One of the main advantages is the amount of freedom in scheduling. Parents will find that they are no longer tied to the school day, term o year timetables. Parents who have done this testify that they have available far more time because of absence of travelling and the flexibility available.

Australia has a long history in home schooling because of the size of the country and the long distances that make travelling to school impossible. A recent survey in Australia tested home school children and discovered that they were learning more than twice as much as their school counter parts. A lot of time is lost in schools in setting up classes and packing up. The survey concluded that 2 hours study at home can easily equate to 6 hours at school.

It is generally considered that home schooled children are well educated, however, one of the more serious negative effects of home schooling is that children can miss out on the opportunity to interact with other children. This can afffect their development socially as they do not learn how to communicate or behave in group settings. This is obviously a vital skill in living and working as an adult.

  31. For some years there are families in Spain who decided to have the responsibility to educate their children at home. However I think the quality of that education may not be the same as that offered by teachers who have studied and trained to teach future men of society. For example, parents can't teach English or French if they don't have good training in grammar or pronunciation.

Moreover these children relate to others their age and learn the rules of running a school and its teachers. I met a boy who was educated at home and after a few years he asked his parents to go to school because he needed to have friends and social relationships.

As for boarding schools are schools that have residence where you live, eat, study and sleep.

Most people think it is better that it is better to study in a private school because the antention is more personal and better learn the language, but I defend the public school where teenagers study more to get good grades and the teachers are very well formed.

In the public schools there are a lot of types of people: people who don't have much money for live, people who have a lot of money, people who is nice, cheeful, nervious, mean, sensitive......well, a lot of types of people.
About the private schools, I think that you learn the same things than in one public school. There are a few differences in relation to the public schools: you have to pay for studying in it and you have to wear an uniform when you are going to class. Often, fathers send their children to private schools because their children suffer bullies in the public school. Usually, the people who is in a private school, are the children of very rich persons who have companies, who are famous, or things like this.
I think home schooling is the best way to study because the teacher arrives at your home and you only have to wait in the table for start your lessons. However, at state schools there are the people who haven't many economic resources, there are more people for this reason and you can make more friends, and you don’t need such high marks, because public schools have to admit everyone. You can wear the clothes that you want and the timetables are better.

  36. Homeschooling, also known as home education, is the education of children inside the home, as opposed to in the formal settings of a public or private school. Home education is usually conducted by a parent or tutor. Despite the name, only a portion of home education may be delivered in the family home, with the rest provided within the local community or else where . Many families that start out with a formal school structure at home often switch to less formal and, in their view, more effective ways of imparting education outside of school, and many prefer the term "home education" to the more prevalently used "homeschooling". "Homeschooling" is the term commonly used in North America, whereas "home education" is more commonly used in the United Kingdom, elsewhere in Europe, and in many Commonwealth countries.

I think the homeschooling are better than states schools because in home you can prevent the bullying and insults to the adolescent. Though If you want study, you study in anywhere.

Families, for a variety of reasons (parent education, finances, educational philosophies, future educational plans, where they live, past educational experiences of the child, child’s interests and temperament) choose different educational methods, which represent a variety of educational philosophies and paradigms. Some of the methods used include Classical education. Homeschooling is legal in some countries. Countries with the most prevalent home education movements include Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Some countries have highly regulated home education programs as an extension of the compulsory school system; others, such as Sweden and Germany, have outlawed it entirely. Brazil has a law project in process. In other countries, while not restricted by law, homeschooling is not socially acceptable or considered desirable and is virtually non-existent.

The advanteges are that the children don't have to leave their homes, parents can give the education they want. The disadvantege is that the children don't socialized with other children. Countries that are allowed to do the home schooling are Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Countries that are not allowed this are Sweden and Germany.

This can be a bit confusing to us here in Spain, because also in the USA they call government schools public schools.

There are many public schools in Great Britain. It is often a difficult choose your parents to decide whether to send their children to public or state schools. Some people feel that discipline is better in public schools than in state schools, but this is not always true. The public schools in Great Britain often have a large proportion of overseas pupils and parents might feel that this offers an opportunity to their children of widening their experience and getting to know other people for other cultures.

The biggest difference of course is that state school is free and all the pupils have the right to go there; they can´t refuse you a place. Whereas, the public schools with the best reputations can be really expensive and sometimes there is a lot of competition for places.

I went to public school for ten years and there were a lot of good things about it but I am in state school now and I enjoy that too. I think people should think carefully about their choice, because every person is different and they have different needs.

Firstly, children who study at home, have several advantages over other students. For example, they can choose their own timetable to work. Additionally, this can strengthen the relationship between parents and children, which can facilitate way to learn. Besides this, parents can improve the learning environment in order to facilitate learning

On the other hands, some parents who teach their children aren't professionals. For that reason, some children at reach high levels of education have a lot of deficiencies.Another disadvantage is that your children not share time with their friends so they will have distanced them.

In conclusion, it seen to me that children who study at home can have some problems to be connected with other children when they have to go to high school.

But almost all children go to private or public schools, in my opinion public schools are better that private schools because the education must be public because there ir a right for the all the children of the world. Althought too many children go to private school because his parents want it, some parents things that private schools are better and it isn't like they think.

Lately a lot of children of Spain suffered bullying and there are campaigns against the bullying. Langui is a sing of Spain that sings Rap.
