Building England:
And now that we are going to Chester and the North Wales, here's a funny song about the differences between England and Wales:

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Wales and England two different kingdoms
ResponderEliminarWales and England are two different countries, with different languages and culture .Some people say England, when they really mean Great Britain or the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is made up of four different kingdoms or countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which have been united. Each had his own king at one time.
Britain (without the Great) is made up of Wales and England. The people who first settled in Britain were the Britons or Celts. Then came the Romans and Britain became part of the Roman Empire, but Scotland was never completely conquered by the Romans and even in Wales the Britons or Celts hid in the mountains and maintained their own language and culture. When the Romans left the Anglo-Saxons arrived and founded England. The people began to speak English but in the mountains of Wales the Britons continues with their own language. In the 13th century the English finally conquered Wales but the people of Wales still retain a separate identity.
Welsh is still spoken today by half a million people, 19% of the population. Wales has his own customs and culture especially in music. It is a Kingdom which has often been on the verge of disappearing; but it has survived for over 2000 years so I hope it will survive for another 2000.

England and Wales are two of the four countries that form part of the UK. In spite of this fact, there are many differences between them and each of them has its own king. They are very different in their culture, language and music. But, why are they so different?
ResponderEliminarBefore Romans arrived to England, in Britain there were Celtics and Britons. However, when Romans arrived, Britain became part of the Roman Empire. However, they didn’t conquer all Britain, because Wells and Scottish resisted. So, Wells and Scottish developed their own language and culture. In the 13th century England conquered Wales, but the people of Wales still have their own identity and they didn’t want to become part of England. And it’s for that reason that they formed the UK, and separated the different regions.
Wales has its own language: the Welsh, which is very difficult to study, but which is spoken by half a million of the population. They have another type of culture and music. They also have another their own parliament and they don’t realise very well with English people.
I say that they don’t realise well with English people, because this year we have been to Chester and the North of Wales and we have seen all the medieval castles in the North of Wales, when England wanted to conquer Wales. Moreover, now there are some old laws in Chester that aren’t still abolished against Welsh people that sound crazy in our days.
