Two interesting listening exercises to do and articles to read:
Can science fiction save the world? (ABC: How science fiction can save the world & BBC: Project Hieroglyph)
The cost of life-saving vaccines (BBC: Rocketing vaccine cost warning & Drug companies cut vaccine prices to the developing world)
Write comments about science fiction films that have found solutions to problems we have had later or about your opinion of vaccines and their prices. Is it all a masquerade? (By the way, what does 'masquerade' mean? Try to explain it in English).
And finally, here's a good way to practise INDIRECT QUESTIONS:
In my opinion about science fiction films could have found solutions in a distant future, since we can imaginate how could be. Really if it is, a masquerade because the science fiction isn't real and all are imaginations created by a director. The masquerade is a false show or pretence.
ResponderEliminarI think about vaccines and their prices has escalated too compared to previous prices and some people can't pay it because they don't have money.

I think that vaccines are fundamental for young people because since we put them so that our body can not catch fatal diseases. In fact, we eliminated some diseases that were once fatal to humans.
ResponderEliminarMoreover some things you thought were science fiction has become reality. Companies that create vaccines want to earn a lot of money but do not believe in global health. Create a vaccine is cheap but the effect they have on people is very large. Though sometimes science fiction seem most things we imagine can become real and these vaccines as well.

Vaccines are really important for people because they can help people to avoid many ilnesses. They also eliminated some of the most common health problems. However, more people in the USA are starting to be anti vaccines because they think that it gives you different illnesses as authism or others. You can find vaccines and science fiction in the movies of The Maze Runner. An illness is killing many people, converting them in zombis and the government has the cure, but they only give it to the people they want. This is the same than when companies make vaccines for many things but their prices are too high and are too expensive that people can't buy them. Maybe, the vaccines can cure many people but companies prefer to get a lot of money selling them very expensive or to private companies. Vaccines are great for out health and they shouldn't cost too much because less people could die.
