BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Too many and too individualistic!!

On the one hand, we are probably too many for this planet and this can also affect climate change.

A listening exercise for you to do:  Climate change: Are there too many people? (6 Minute English, BBC Learning English)

In spite of wars, pandemics and so on, Planet Earth is becoming too small for all of us. On top of that, we increasingly demand more space for ourselves: we want bigger houses, our rooms have to be large enough (but just for one single person), every member of the family needs an individual means of transport....

On the other hand, we are more individualistic. Working for others is a foolish thing to do and everybody thinks nobody in their right mind can do such things. That's what a good teacher should always do.

In the old days, siblings used to share bedrooms. There would be one single TV set in the house, we would have a single landline phone and one single computer for the whole family. The family used to have their meals at the same time all together. This is not possible any more.

  1. After several fighting against pancreatic cancer, Gianluca Vialli has passed away.
According to my father, he is one of the best strikers of the 90s and one of the best Italian strikers in history. He spent almost his entire career playing in Italy during his time at Juventus, he formed a duo with Ravanelli and they won the Champions League.
What I like the most about his game is that he was very effective and didn´t forgive in the rival area. In addition to having a very good career as a player, he was also a coach, but I didn´t like how his teams played because they were defensive.

  2. The climate change is very dangerous, in some decades (since the first Industrial Revolution) the human had contaminated some much that now is very difficult to change it. It can be changed, the citizens must recycle plastics, cristals, paper, etc.. but the big part of the problem is obligation of the politician, they have to say to the industries' owners that they need to implant renovable energies in their factories, tha worst part of this is that they would need a lot of space to build solar panels, windmills, etc ... this would make an alteration in the habitat of some animals. But if we are together we can reduce or eliminate this climate change.
