Some months ago I took a decision: I needed a 'quiet quitting' (The English We Speak, BBC Learning English) as I was beginning to feel burn out because I was overdoing it at work with little success and, above all, with little support from the educational community.

In 2021, the EU imported almost 138 million tons of agricultural products, for value of 150,000 million euros. The report 'No Times to Waste', based on most up-to-date sources, believes that the EU wastes 153.5 million tons of foods each year, nearly double previous estimates.
ResponderEliminarThe food waste costs companies and EU households around 143,000 million euros per year and causes at least 6% of the total emissions of greenhouse gases in the EU. For now, an estimated 20% of EU food production is currently wasted. Halving food waste in the EU by 2030 could save 4.7 million hectares of agricultural lands.
An international movement of 43 organizations from 20 EU countries has released a joint statement asking on the EU to introduce objectives for member states to reduce food waste for 50% by 2030, inside the reach of current reports, and review expansion of reports to cover all on food waste in the farm.
The Commission must present a proposal for food waste objectives for EU member states later this year, with formal adoption for this 2023.

The waste of food in good state is a big problem in our world. This will sound imposible but Nigeria is on of the countries taht waste most food in the world.
ResponderEliminarArgentina is a country that produce enough food to feed a million of persons, it's amazing how the goverment of Argentina can waste that quantity of food, the worst part is that actually Argentina it can't allow to waste that food.
A possible solution to this could be donate food to the poorest countries and feed all the people that life there, how my grandmother usually says: "Don't waste food, think about the African boys and girls that don't have that".

The difference between quit, quite and quiet.
ResponderEliminarQuiet is calm. For example, I live in a quiet place, without noise, far from the city.
Quite is a synonim of so. You can say I'm so tired or I'm quite tired (we use it to emphasize)
Quit is when you stop working in a place. For example I quit my job yesterday because I didn't like it.
They are confusing words because they are all very similar.
