Our mission is coming to an end, and so is Cassini space mission. Six years ago we began a long journey full of hurdles and difficulties and some of our friends were left behind. I wish you the best for this last year, but let's read about Cassini space mission, which is also dealt in today's lingohack programme:

COMPUTERS
IN THE CLASSROOMS
The
world of language learning is being transformed by rapid advances in
information technology, giving students greater freedom in the way they study.
Computers allow learners to choose what, when and how they study. It means that
they can cut costs by staying at home to study instead of taking an expensive
course, including accommodation and travel expenses. But educationists say that
multimedia should only be seen as complementary to classroom teaching, not as
substitute. An evidence suggests that, in saying that, teachers are not just
being protective about their jobs. As ever, human contact is vital when
learning a second language.
Many
language schools across Europe now have
these technologies installed as a complement to classroom activities. Students
can book the computer room for an hour or so and practise parts of the course
that they are finding particularly difficult. "Computer allow students to
consolidate language points in their own time," said one teacher of French.
"People who are shy about speaking a foreign language in public in the
early stages can practise without anyone hearing."
The
younger generations are so familiar with the technology that they have come to
expect it in any school. As time goes on and prices fall, computers will become
an established part of educational process.

- Episode 170906 / 06 September 2017 >>> Expressions presented: Saturn, ring system, aurora, probe & atmosphere.
Cassini was a mission of the NASA, ESA and ASI whose objective was to study the planet Saturn. The spacecraft consisted of two main elements: the Cassini spacecraft and the Huygens probe. The launch was the 15 October 1997.
ResponderEliminarWhile the mission itself is ending, the data and observations provided by Cassini will provide new details about the planet, its unique rings and moons for decades to come. The scientist won´t have more information about the Cassini when the spacecraft deliberately dives into Saturn's atmosphere and plunges itself into the planet.
When Cassini arrived, it witnessed a giant storm circling the planet for nine months. We learned there are 3-D structures in the rings. And Titan not only has seas and lakes of liquid ethane and methane, but an atmosphere of chemicals that rain down, forming a unique chemistry that could lead to life.
Cassini has been a big progress in the exploration of Saturn and a good way to understand better the space and our solar system.

ResponderEliminarIn the next, I´m going to talk about Cassini´s mission. I will write about the most impotant information and about the principal objectives.
ResponderEliminarCassini is an international program that is the result of cooperation between NASA, ESA and the Italian space agency ASI, as well as other international academic and industrial collaborators from about twenty countries. Cassini's mission consists of delivering a probe to Titan, and then remaining in orbit around Saturn for detailed studies of the planet and its rings and satellites.
The principal objectives are to:
(1) determine the three-dimensional structure and dynamical behavior of the rings;
(2) determine the composition of the satellite surfaces and the geological history of each object;
(3) determine the nature and origin of the dark material on Iapetus' leading hemisphere;
(4) measure the three-dimensional structure and dynamical behavior of the magnetosphere;
(5) study the dynamical behavior of Saturn's atmosphere at cloud level;
(6) study the time variability of Titan's clouds and hazes; and,
(7) characterize Titan's surface on a regional scale.
At the end of it´s mission, the Cassini spacecraft executed the "Grand Finale" of it´s mission: a number of risky passes through the gaps between Saturn and Saturn's rings. The purpose of this phase was to maximize Cassini's scientific outcome before the spacecraft was destroyed. The atmospheric entry of Cassini effectively ended the mission.
From my point of view, Cassini mission was important because give to all of us very important information about Saturn and Saturn´s rings.

ResponderEliminarI think that Cassini has been very important in the advance of learning more things about the Saturn planet and that thanks to it now we can know more about our galaxi and all the planets. Personally I think there are a lot of people that help to know more about everything that is on Saturn

Cassini was a projet developed between NASA and the European Space Agency, this projet was originally planed to study Saturn, its atmosphere, its famous rings, satellites and much more. The spacecraft was sent to Saturn in 1997 and arrived in 1998, the probe had many instruments to measure almost every single aspect of Saturn, among that much instruments we can mention: a Radar, a Dust Analyzer, many types of Spectrometers, to measure the gases from the planet, by the way, Saturn doesn´t has any kind of floor, where we could walk, It´s just a gas mixture. The spacecraft originally had a lander called Huygens which landed on Saturn's largest moon, Titan. Cassini was the fourth space probe to visit Saturn, but the first to enter in its orbit.
ResponderEliminarCassini was active in space for nearly 20 years studying the planet and its system, nothing special considering that there are spacecrafts like voyager one, which was launched in 1977 and it still sending us information, it´s expected to arrive to another solar system in some years. Cassini mission ended on September 15, 2017, the day we started the current school year, It burned when its trajectory took it into Saturn's atmosphere
This projet was originally planned to send us information for only four years, from June 2004 to May 2008 but in 2010, the mission was extended another seven years until September
The lander which I was talking about traveled with Cassini until its separation, then it was landed by parachute on Titan. It returned data to Earth for around 90 minutes. This was the first landing on an other planet´s moons.

Today I’m going to talk about a very famous mission called Cassini.
ResponderEliminarThe Cassini mission was a collaboration between NASA, ESA (European Space Agency) and ASI(Italian Space Agency) to send a probe to study the planet Saturn and its system(it includes rings and natural satellites).The mission started on October 15,1997. The mission was planned to last four years (from June 2004 to May 2008) but the mission was extended for another two years until 2010 and it last until September of 2017 for a lot of different reasons.
The Cassini mission has 6 different objectives:
¥ Determining the three-dimensional structure and dynamic behaviour of the ring of Saturn
¥ Determining the composition of the satellite surfaces and the geological history of each object.
¥ Determining the nature and origin of the dark material on Iapetus’s leading hemisphere.
¥ Measuring the three-dimensional structure and dynamic behaviour of the magnetosphere
¥ Studying the dynamic behaviour of Saturn's atmosphere at cloud level.
¥ Studying the time variability of Titan's clouds and hazes.
Characterizing Titan's surface on a regional scale.
This mission has increased in the information of the planet Saturn.
Personally, I think that this mission is very interesant and that we should investigate more all the planets because I’m sure that we would learn a lot of different things.
