BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Nothing like Mummy!!

I don't know now, but it used to be like this. There was nothing like mummy to take care of you. What do you think? Is it still the same? What adjectives come to your mind when thinking about your mother? Caring, supportive, loving... It must be due to the fact that we all came from their bellies, we are part of them.

And it seems to be the same in the animal world. Have a look at this mummy sea otter...

Rolling with Tina in heaven!!

God bless you, Tina! Yes, we will all be rolling with you in heaven today!! Rolling like a ship on a river, that is, first smoothly, but all of a sudden roughly as if we were approaching some waterfalls and some rapids in the Mississippi River. And remember Our lives are like rivers

Legends will be legends for ever!!

Legends are legends and they will be legends for ever, but time passes for everybody and this is the case of Rafa Nadal, who has just announced that he is not going to play in Roland Garros and that he is going to stop for a while until the end of the year, when he will try to go back to competition if it is possible, being 2024 his last year in his long successful career.

Whatever it happens, he will stay in the hearts and memories of tennis lovers for things like the ones you can watch in these videos.

Roman engineer wanted for Rules reservoir

Twenty years ago the Rules reservoir (or dam) was built and we are still waiting for the water canalizations to be done and the hydroelectric exploitation bidding process is still to be started. It is just amazing with all the droughts we have gone through in the region and the electric bill crisis.

How will it be done and how long will it take them? We still don't know, but perhaps we'd better look for a Roman engineer to do it! They were such incredible problem-solvers!!

Here you've got several documents for you to analise so as to see how  The Roman Aqueducts   worked.

For further information visit The Archeology Channel for Roman Engineering

We've been waiting for so long and at last it seems politicians have agreed to make a move, or is it just a 'fake' move because of the coming elections.

The singer in my musical hint for today is also waiting: Waiting for a Girl like you by Foreigner. Here's a version with the lyrics for you to sing along!!

    es más rápido. (quick)

Los ingenieros romanos eran mejores construyendo acueductos que los ingenieros españoles.

De hecho eran los mejores ingenieros de toda la historia mundial.

Now write sentences using the words given and the comparatives of superiority.

Then finish them using the superlatives.

Example: Albert is better at playing tennis than Leo, but Nadal is the best tennis player in the world.
