BEING A TEACHER....

BEING A TEACHER IS A DIFFICULT TASK NOWADAYS, SO I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THIS PIECE OF ADVICE BY BRUCE LEE:

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

How many times do I have to let things slide?

There are so many times when I have to let things slide pretending I'm deaf and that I haven't heard a swear word or something inappropriate, ignoring that students haven't done their homework, not taking into account bad moments students are going through and having poor results, accepting fake writing exercises...

The English We Speak: Let something slide (BBC Learning English)

Most of the times I am completely aware of all these issues, but you have to carry on teaching trying to convince your students this is not the right way to do things. In the old days they wouldn't allow you a second chance, but life has changed and teachers have to be more understanding. However, remember this cannot last for ever!!!

  2. I agree with you, teachers are so understanding with students. Teachers must be hard with them, for example: they should't set a resit exam for those who have failed.

Although teachers want students to learn, some of them are too lazy to work. In fact, I think half students don't work hard.

In my opinion, the harder teachers are, the harder their students will work because they are very relaxed and they don't care about their future.
