Our younger generations are claimed to be the best educated and trained generations ever. They are supposed to be bilingual, and even plurilingual, with a high digital competence, with the best marks ever, with excellent social skills, with the highest expectations... and so on. And, all of a sudden, we discover that they tend to be a fake. I do hope that I'm wrong because the outcome can be fatal for our world, our planet.
Lately I have found out that my students don't read the compulsory readers that we have, that most comments are not genuine and that all the articles and videos I provide them with in this blog are not read or watched, among many other things.
Well, life is hard and has no mercy, and in a few weeks' time they will face the real world, that is to say, the Selectivity exam. And this is just the beginning of a long race full of hurdles and you have to be better educated and trained than ever before. This is no fake!! The requirements that are demanded are probably the highest ever and only those who have done things properly will succeed. I know the pandemics and the lockdown didn't help, but we should be more conscious of the real/analogical world and we should not be mislead by the metaverse or any other kind of virtual world they create.
Therefore, my piece of advice is to take advantage of all that is offered to us, all that is available on the web... but always being sensible because the fact that we have all 24/7 does not mean that we do not make a proper use of it. So, for example, we mustn't watch TV 24 hours 7 days a week because they are broadcasting films, series, documentaries, sport... all that time.
THIS WOULD BE THE JOURNEY TO NOWHERE!!!

Now you are studying until finish high school, but most of them trying to finish a degree or a module, we are studying minimum until 22 years that is when you have to finish the degree.
However,you follow studying because the more studies you have and the more up to date you are, the more chances you have of finding a job because life is very difficult today.Also, you need a good level in different languages because you need a B1 in English to get the degree at the university.
We don't win anything, if we don't read the compulsory reader or if the comment are not genuine because these is for us and if we don’t do anything or don’t it right, it we will be worse for us. We must do everything we can from comments, composition or exercises of the sites.
From my point of view, we have to try get the best mark as possible and the same as with the Selectivity exam because this is going to decide our future from studying close to home to studying on the other side of the country, from being able to enter a public university or having to pay for a private one. Life is too bad to be able to find work, so we must do things well in order to have a good future.

ResponderEliminarIt's right that this generation has many advantages regarding learning because we have access to all the types of tools for learning. However, I don't think that someone who has more tools is more clever, but the one who has more attitude and positive mind, because many people who have all and don't take advantage of it, and however someone who doesn't have anything and wants to learn, he does whatever for learning new things.
ResponderEliminarBefore, some years ago most people didn't even know how to write. Women had to stay at home doing housework, so they didn´t know how to do anything, they had never learned to write, speak a new language, absolutely nothing. Only a few people, most men, had the opportunity to learn.
Thanks to the passing of the years, to society evolution and to technology, this situation doesn't happen any longer. All people have the opportunity to learn, to study whatever they want. Technology gives you access to whatever you want to learn, at any time of the day and in any place of the world.
I think we are the best generation regarding technology evolution because with it we have access to anything. But from my point of view, we are not the most clever and the best. I think there is everything, people who are very clever and other people who are not clever at all, but not only with our generation, with the generations before and the generations that will appear.
All in all, I think we have to study a lot about everything because maybe you will need it in the future.

People that were born in the 2000s have had more opportunities than the other generations. Technology is part of our life and everything has evolved.
ResponderEliminarOn the one hand, I think that technology is very useful and it helps people do things easily. For example, we can research all type of information by using Internet. We also can know new places and talk with people from other parts of the world.
On the other hand, the problem is that now we do everything with the computer. We even have robots that clean our house. In addition, if we have to do a basic operation, we use the calculator. We are used to living an easy life.
In conclusion, technology is really helpful for us but we should use it appropriately. In my opinion, if we use electronic devices and Internet for all the things, we will lose our abilities of humans.

I´m supposed to be one of those best prepared person. Honestly, I can´t consider myself as someone like that. It is true that nowadays, we have more opportunities than the previous generations, but that brings more ways to distract, and more ways to be manipulated too.
ResponderEliminarTalking about the “book control incident”, It is true that this year, I´ve been busier, so I couldn´t read the last book, but I have to say that I´ve read the previous one! It is true that we are still kids growing, and we don´t know how real life is. In fact, when we meet a bit of that “real life”, we broke down and don´t know how to solve the problem we have to face. However, I think that all of us is doing his best this year, and we have a lot of merit!
In a few months, I´ll go to university, and I´m excited and scared at the same time. I´m looking forward to live by my own, but so, I´ll have to do all the chores, to solve all the house problems and I will feel a bit alone. Talking about studies, they´ll get much harder, but honestly, I´m not really scared about that, I´ll just have to make a bigger effort.
In conclusion, I don´t think one generation is better prepared than other, it´s just their circunstances which makes the difference. However, in a few months I´ll check how preparated I am, I can´t wait!

They say that our generation is the most prepared in history, but that is not the case, every time children leave school early and start working in the fields, wasting thousands of opportunities that lie ahead.
ResponderEliminarI think that by saying that we are the most prepared they are putting us in a responsibility that we will not be able to fulfill. We have everything within reach since we are little and our life is becoming easier and we have to make less effort. I think that's one reason why we don't push ourselves to get things done, because we know someone will come along and do it better than us. We do not realize how hard life is and how many responsibilities we will have in 1 or 2 years.
Knowing English is one of the things that can make our future not so hard and put us to work somewhere. If you don't know English you are lost in this life. Our teacher Alberto gives us a lot of articles to read, he corrects the essays we want, and even then we are not able to do things to learn and what we do sometimes is use translators because it is much easier that way.
We always tend to go easy and this is not going to help us at all in life. I think this generation will not have much to contribute in a few years.

Another thing that used to be a bit difficult to do is to be able to learn so many languages, now most schools are bilingual and you can learn more than 2 languages.
We have to be very grateful for this advanced and good education that we have.
