This is our post number 900 since we set off on this digital journey 11 years ago (it was born on 11th March, 2011). How useful for our students!! as more than 17,000 comments have been made so far, and the relevance it has in our teaching-learning process of the English language nowadays, and most especially during the pandemic we are going through. ResponderEliminarThe variety of posts on the blog is awesome. You can find almost any topic on it, and learn about so many things. Although, after 11 years, it´s normal!! It´s very useful to practise writing and especially to learn how to make good compositions and improve our vocabulary. Also, there are a lot of interesting articles that we wouldn't probably have read if they weren't on the blog.
ResponderEliminarFor example, in this post, there is information about the gymnast Nadia Comaneci, for me and surely for many more people, one of the best in the world. It's amazing what she does. She makes gymnastics look easy, although, in fact, I consider it to be one of the most difficult sports by far. You must be very careful because any mistake can cost you a serious injury or even your life. Comaneci does all the steps perfectly, literally a 10/10.
A few days ago, I saw a documentary on Netflix where Nadia Comaneci appeared among other athletes. It's called “Athlete A”, and on it, you can see the declarations of some of the gymnasts that Dr. Larry Nassar raped. Simone Biles, the gymnast who left the Olympic games due to anxiety and stress problems, also appeared on it. It´s hard to see how these things continue to happen and to see what kind of things athletes have to go through.
As if the frequent abuse were not enough, athletes who practice this sport often have food illnesses, such as anorexia or bulimia. The shocking thing is that in many cases, it´s due to their own coaches. Sport should be something to enjoy and have fun, and a safe place for the athletes. Obviously, you must also make a lot of sacrifices and efforts, especially at such high levels, but nothing should ever be bad for your health. That is why I admire Simone Biles' decision to retire from the competition on time since she was not mentally well at all. She has been very brave.
This blog is a very good way to learn English, especially vocabulary. This is due to all the topics that appear in the different entries, the number of entries that can be in this blog and the amount of time that is dedicated behind each one is impressive.
ResponderEliminarSomething that we should emphasize is that this is no longer a blog of an institute but a blog in which people from many parts of the planet enter to see it and it is amazing. We can also see that it is a way to disclose some important topics and more in the moments in which we are due to COVID-19. What I mean is that it is a way of providing information to people and making them more aware of the problem we have.
In conclusion, this blog has many benefits and we should know how to see and take advantage of them and thus be able to get the most out of it. Besides that it is a very good way to learn English since with each comment you learn new words and new ways of expressing yourself.

ResponderEliminarI heard the name of Nadia Comaneci but I hadn’t seen any of her tests. My parents told me that she was an incredible gymnast who had the first perfect 10.
ResponderEliminarThe last years, Simone Biles has been the best in the world and she always won the gold medal, but this year she had to stop. She said that she wasn’t good mentally. Mental health is as important as physical health. Finally she won the bronze medal.
I think that these gymnasts are good examples of work and effort. These important people give us lessons in life. Sometimes we need a pause to be good again and get a 10.
